Golfed this course today in 90 degree heat. Course was in very nice condition, but, PLEASE do something to the cart paths! They are terrible. This course is "softly" challenging, with the front 9 and back 9 totally different. We always enjoy the variety of the fairways, and the greens were in excellent condition. Don't forget the bug spray!

I spent my summer's growing up watching and then learning the game on this course. It's a great setting! Front nine much different from the back. Lot's of opportunities for scoring. The scenery is outstanding!! I look forward to playing here each summer!

This is my favorite golf course in the world. I played college golf at Dickinson College in nearby Carlisle, PA. I am around 30, and have played for more than 15 years, and this is number one for me. I like short, narrow courses with small greens. No room for mistakes on this course, and try to catch it with no one on the course during a fertile period for the earth. It's the tops.

I like this course, Back nine very different from front 9.Challenging but surprisingly easy to score on. Tee boxes need work as do the cart paths. No real food at the course but very nice restaurant up the road about 2 miles(Bobby A's) Ladies definitely use forward tees!

Caledonia is a great little course, pretty well-groomed, short and beautiful. My only problem with it is the way it's run. Often on weeekends, although it's supposed to be open until 8:45, when we get back to the clubhouse around 8, the guy working already has all the lights turned out and can't seem to wait to close up. I don't care for that. Also, I recently bought a discount magazine that works on lots of courses. Caledonia doesn't specify whether you have to play 18 or 9 holes the way the other courses do, so you would assume you get the discount either way. But when we arrived, the guy working unceremoniously informed us that we had to play 18 to get the discount, even though it says no such thing in the offer, plus the fact that we play there every weekend. It kind of soured me on the place. Too bad - it's a nice little course.

Needs grooming

Previous reviewers are very charitable. The course is short and tight, and seriously overgrown. Needs some intelligent pruning of overhanging branches and encroaching vegetation. Location in a state forest and zealotry of the tree huggers prevent what would be routine maintenance on other courses. No amenities to speak of, again due to its location, dry townships, etc. Not worth the effort.

Short, but fun

I found this course to be very enjoyable and very playable. It was very narrow, but it was short. There were a few drivable par 4s, and the par 5s are reachable. The greens were nice, and the fairways were decent. For the price, I thought it was very much worth it.

A nice course tucked in the gap of South Mountain, Caledonia offers a somewhat shorter 18 holes than most. Pines line many fairways and stray shots are given no if you are a "straight shooter", this is a pretty easy course. I've always liked this course just for its setting, fitting snuggly into a mountain gap. The course gives a feel of playing in the wilderness when in fact, there are homes and the Totem Pole Playhouse nearby. For me, this is exactly the kind of course that you get what you pay for. If your looking for manicured greens, etc... head a couple of miles down the road to Penn National. Avoid the cost and crowds and play Caledonia!

Nice course

Caledonia has a great layout. Lots of trees to provide shade and some tight driving holes. Greens and fairways were in great condition when I played there. Only 5100 yards, but a par 68 so not unreasonably short. Includes a 65 yard par 3 that is straight uphill to a tiny green. I really enjoyed playing here and will return.
