Great improvement...fantastic food

Reviewed July 16, 2013

well for the 2013 season @ manor valley g c. The greens are well manicure with lots of tricky breaks! Speed is up, fairways are keeping their lush green appearance. Vince. D. Has been a asset to the well maintain golf course. The pro shop has lots of great golf gear. Stop by and check out the facilities! There's a new bar and tv's.

Unbelievable improvements

Reviewed July 01, 2012

I have been golfing at Manor Valley for quite some time and must say that it really has improved over the years. The course is not long but the layout is great. The family and workers are really nice folks. They treat you very well.
They have 30 plus leagues and tons of tournaments.
I would recommend this course to everyone.

This course is probably a good place for weekenders but I, personally, find it very cramped in feel and I find myself looking around a lot for stray shots as everything is very close together here, especially on the back nine which just seems to have everything bordering each other, up and back and over and across. The rye grass greens are also very different and quite bizarre in feel and roll and the crowning of the greens is very disconcerting. The maintenance is okay but surely could be better and the course cries out for some sand traps and possible re-structuring to give it some character. There are very few amenities via the clubhouse although the management was very friendly and courteous.

The amount of play that this course gets defies logic. Its more expensive, in worse shape, and less interesting than cloverleaf, irwin, meadowink, murrysville, or any other course in the area. Its soooooo boring and the course is always in lousy shape. Every time i go there i wonder why i came.

I liked the course. I'm not the greatest golfer & never will be but for the bucks it beats baseball! dan grosso

A Country Club It Is Not

Played here 6-7-07: the course is called Manor Valley Golf Club, not Country Club, and it's only 5853 yards from the white tees (only white and red tees exist). Fees are modest, but are CASH ONLY, so leave the plastic in your wallet. I think the course is dangerous: tee boxes are typically less than ten yards away from greens. Lotsa balls flying around. Design is compact: fairways are generally wide; tee boxes were OK: greens are smallish, crowned, and slow: bunkers are almost non-existent - maybe ten on the whole course. Clientele on this weekday were mostly older folks, with about three leagues going off before noon, so play was a bit slow. No complaint, just a statement of fact. Staff was OK, didn't make a strong impression either way. Pro shop is barren: there is ZERO merchandise available, other than tees and a few balls. Course is definitely not upscale, but is an unpretentious layout that fills a gap. Be forewarned!

Chief Duffer P

Manor Valley is a good course for the average player. It's open, honest, and has a couple of nice challenges, as well as some really pretty holes. The greens are fast, and drainage isn't the best after a heavy rain, but it's a solid value for the fees. The staff is friendly - Gary and his wife are both great folks. It's a good course to hold an outing; they are very accomodating, and the food is excellent and fairly priced.
