18 hole executive length course
The 18-hole "Midlantic" course at the Midlantic Golf Club facility in Dover, Pennsylvania features all the hallmarks of Pennsylvania golf. Midlantic golf course opened in 1996. Don Stough manages the course as the General Manager.
There are a few of these type of 9-hole courses around...pastureland used as a golf course. I never putted on such slow greens, so if you are out for putting practice...might as well go mini-golfing (just kidding). However...though the conditions aren't stellar, the set-up of the course is interesting, especially with the stream that meanders around holes 3-8. The course was an excellent place to take my two sons! A couple of Par 4's play around 400 yards, so there is some legitacy to the course. Great place to take beginners...but not a serious round here!
as bad as they come
Granted, this isn't much of a course. Lots of weeds, no real fairway/rough transition, and the greens putt like '70s shag carpet. BUT!!! For about a dollar a hole to walk it is a pretty challenging little course that even lets you play your driver a few times. Also important to note that this course has both COVERED and GRASS driving range areas - Something very difficult to find. Sure its a little run down and undermaintained, but for the price its a great place to take the wife and family for a pleasant couple of hours.
SUNDOGThe Best Kept Secret in Dover. This is a lovely little 9 Hole Executive Course just a half mile from the square West of Dover. The staff is pleasant and personable and scenery is breathtaking. All in all a very nice affordable course.
Very small greens and little maintenanceThe fairways and the rough appear to be the same. Not very much attention to detail here at all. The worst executive course I have ever played.
