Course Reviews

THE COURSE IS CHALLENGING AND LONG. IT WAS IN BAD SHAPE EARLIER THIS YEAR BUT HAS GOTTEN CONSIDERABLY BETTER AS OF LATE. THE STAFF IS THE MOST ARROGANT PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. THEY SHOULD TAKE A COUPLE CUSTOMER APPRIECATION CLASSES TO BETTER SERVE THEIR CLIENTS!!!

Pretty nice course to play well maintained. One of the best to play in the area. Although the staff has ALWAYS been less than friendly! But not bad.

One of the hidden gems in Northeast Pa. The course is off the beatin path between Binghamton and Scranton and doesn't usually see that much play which is great for those that know about it. The course is long with a number of dog legs and wide but tree lined fairways. The front 9 plays a little easier IMO with less elevation changes and wider landing areas. The course is always in great shape and the staff has always be friendly. Deffinately a course worth checking out for those that play at Stone Hedge and Conklin.

An open course that is deceiving. For the average golfer the course plays more difficult then it appears. Although you are penalized by bnd shots the penalty is usually in the form of added strokes and not in the form of lost balls. In general the layout is nice and the scenery lends itself for an overall enjoyable experience.

I would like to echo a previous review. The staff is less than friendly with players from out of the immediate area. Ordering from the grill or dealing with the woman at the front desk always seems like you are being an inconvenience.

We conduct a golf trip to the area every year for the last 12 years. We play Panorama during our second or third day as it is only 10 minutes from the lodge we stay at. We play two rounds with anywhere from 8-12 players. We used to eat lunch there in between rounds but it was such a hassle dealing with the folks there that most guys pack lunches and eat in the parking lot.

Despite the courses proximity to our lodge and the niceness of the course we will no longer play there because of the service we have received over the years.

Panorama Golf Course

My regular Thursday foursome played Panorama twice in the fall of 2006. We are from the Binghamton N.Y. area and try to find any courses we haven't played, within an hour or so of home. We recently have begun our exploration of Pennsylvania courses (look for many reviews in this area and upstate N.Y from me). We really enjoyed our time at Panorama. For the first timer to this area-don't trust Mapquest. The tail end of the journey was all screwed up. Googlemaps has got it right. The course is 10 or so miles off 81 in the back-country. They don't have any offers on the golf card, golf pass etc., etc., but they did have a heck of an end of season rate. Panorama is a pretty course, with lots of elevation change and beautiful fall foliage. The course is fairly open, but errant shots often find trouble (trees, high grass, etc.). The beauty is that it's not all parallel fairways. Panorama mixes it up, with a well thought out design. Trouble comes in the form of chumpy tee shots (the course has some LONG holes) and errant approach shots (bunkers and water). There is also enough undulation here to send a ball bounding into areas that Ponce DeLeon would just as soon have forgotten. Bring your putting game too. Some of the greens we played were tough, but all were in really nice shape. Watch yourself on the doglegs, as you can run out of fairway fast enough to make it feel like you've been short sheeted. The carts are gasoline powered and reasonably well maintained. The clubhouse has a bar and grille, and was putting out decent food when we were there. All in all, we really enjoyed the course and will be returning in the spring/summer. If I had to offer one gripe, it would be a lack of the friendliness gene in a couple of the employees.

Nice course, well maintained, good value.
