Very playable and enjoyable course

MCC is an excellent tract that is very fun to play. It gives every level of golfer the chance to score while protecting itself from being beaten down with a very thick rough which even better players (I am an 8hcp) struggle to conquer.

Starting with a par 5 1st that allows players the opportunity to "get ahead" as long as you don't find the water to the right of the green.

Moving on to the #1 hcp 2nd hole the course takes it right back! You must drive it straight and long and then find the proper tier of this difficult green.

From there the 3rd is a short par 3 over water with traps protecting the back and a collection area to the left.

The 4th is another par 5 that requires a well placed drive through a shoot and then runs uphill all the way up the slight dogleg left.

The 5th would be a great birdie opportunity except for the brutal NEW green that slopes left, right, back and front, no 2 putt guaranteed here this green is like putting on moguls!

After your 3 putt on the 5th there is no simple task in hitting the green on the long (190+) par 3 6th that has water protecting the whole right side and a tilted green the size of a full baseball diamond.

The 7th hole is another opportunity to score with a decent drive and well placed approach to the 2-tiered green with bunkers on both sides.

On the 8th you can't be too greedy as the water is very reachable off the tee. Once you've come to terms with the short tee shot you must craft a well placed approach to the quasi island green with water front, back and right and traps protecting the left. Enjoy the challenge of hitting your sand shot out towards the water if you are a masochist!

Hit a well placed drive on the 75deg dogleg left 9th to have any reasonable chance of getting on in regulation. The green is small and has 3 differnt ridges to contend with.

Carve a fade (righties) on the 10th tee and you will have a great chance to find bird with a short iron shot to get over the DEEP bunker middle front on this brand new undulating green.

Hit it big on 11 to have anything shorter than a wood on your next shot. If the pin is tucked in the back right just get it on and try to make a 2 putt, it is a sucker's pin.

On the 12th take your mid iron out and get on the raised green before walking across the bridge to the putting area that has traps front, back, left and right!

Don't blow through the fairway on the 13th and this 90 deg dogleg left will yield its share of birdies.

Another big drive is required on the 14th so you have a chance to get close on the big green that runs back to front and left to right.

If it were on the front the par 4 15th would be the #1 hcp hole. A well placed big drive to the bend still leaves you 170+ yards from the large green with a DEEP traps front right and left and tree cover protecting the left. Don't bite off more than you can chew by trying to go over the faiway bunkers on the left at the turn, they'll swallow your ball whole!

Bridie on the par 3 16th will make you feel good as long as you don't hit the trees lining the right side off the tee.

Big hitters will have the chance to put their second shot into the water on the beautiful par 5 17th. Water, a 2-tiered green and bunkers front and back make this hole the prettiest on the course.

The 18th is no easy finishing hole as you must not plunk it into the water on the right and then you need to put it on the raised green without hitting the deep front bunkers.

A Par 71 layout The Meadowlands Country Club course offers challenges to all levels of players with great conditions. The course is a pleasure to play.

After your round there is a seperate golf building, with a large grill room, pro shop and locker room that allows players to enjoy their choice of beverage and nosh and not feel it necessary to "primp" to go into the main clubhouse.

MCC is average across the board. Nothing special as course has lots of up and backs and is old and kind of boring design. The conditions are ok. It's a private Jewish club that is losing members rapidly, and heard if it was not zoned as open space would have been houses a while a go. Time will tell. As a guest it was ok, but membership is very expensive for what you get in return, plus major annual assessments plus a mandatory capital fee. ouch, I'll go elsewhere.
