I am conflicted on this course. First it is terrible maintained. But: The slope of 134 is an accurate slope reflecting the difficulty of the first six holes. Even a middle handicapper could find trouble here. One is easy but you must hit the fairway. Two is no joke. Long enough to be a real par five there is no safe place but the right side of the fairway. You need a long second shot or the bunker guarding the green on the right becomes an issue. The slope of the first two fairways make your tee shots a challenge. The third hole is a breather, but going right on your drive is a disaster. You need to be on the left of the fairway for your shot to the green, but a little too far left and you will disappear into the woods. Short is two strokes better than right on the approach. The fourth hole should be easy . . . any long drive will clear the hill (you want to stay right) and give you an easy shot to the green. The fifth hole is brutal. Miss a little right and you will be in a swamp, a little left and thick trees come into play. The fairway slopes toward the swamp. Your drive is basically a pool shot with the correct placement a little left of center where the trees angle just a little right. But then you must hit a straight stiff uphill shot or you will lose a ball left or have to play over the trap from near the sixth tee. And that is one brutal trap. The par-3 sixth is easy to go GIR, but any downhill putt is insanely treacherous. The seventh is ok, but if you are a slicer OOB is right there. Any good shot down the left is "ok". The second shot into the green is nicely uphill so take a little extra club. The eighth is another easy GIR and this one is not so hard to putt. Nine can almost be driven but if you do not drive it TAKE AN EXTRA CLUB. The green is high above you and hard to hit. If I have a choice I would rather be on the right hand side of the fairway to take the bunker on the right out of play--which sounds odd but if you do not hit a good shot you cannot reach the bunker and if you do hit a good shot you will go over it or be a little left of it. Go left and there are few good choices for the mostly blind shot in. 134 slope is accurate.

Nice course. Challenging due to sloped fairways. Nine holes played again from different tees provides a totaly different course. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Value was great at $16 after 3 PM (all you can play and carts).

Aptly named. Every hole on a hillside. Well maintained but fairways not cut well. Sprinkler system kept coming on every hole I played. Snack Bar staff accommodating and friendly.

The friendliest staff I ever encountered in PA. The course is challenging because of the sloped fairways, but is very rewarding once you figure it out. Being a 9 hole course, I challeng myself by playing the front 9 from the championship tees, then play 9 again from the middle tees and it becomes another course.

This course is awesome!

Challenging and fun course. By far the best value in Berks County; prices for riding at twilight are unbeatable. Friendliest management around.

A Great place

This is a great place to play. The people are friendly, the course is fun to play. An excellent place to bring young golfers but challanging for seasoned players. With the tee box options to play from this makes this course challanging for the average to above average players. This course is pleasent to walk or ride. The management is one of the friendlest I have ever encountered.
