I play Green Acres often and a month ago the 12th fairway was 80% crabgrass. I played on 10/13/12 and the crabgrass is gone the fairway is in great shape. The greens were smooth and a good speed. Everthing is looking good I think the weather is finally helping instead of hurting. If you haven't played The Acres give it a try. It's quiet and this time of year very scenic. Some reasonably challenge holes some easy holes. Play the blues if your worried about shooting 62 I'm sure you'll find some of the holes challeging. Oh yeah good egg sandwiches and hot dogs.

Played this course today. I liked the layout but there was crab grass everywhere. Even in some traps. This course needs lots of TLC.

This golf course is as beautiful as their employees! Much improvement and a perfect atmosphere- Green Acres IS the place to be!

I had the opportunity to play this course last year in a tournament and it was a wonderful experience. Everything went smoothly, the employees were friendly and welcoming, the course is very well taken care of and Green Acres has the best hot dogs in Berks County!! I am excited to play again this year.

A well maintained, fun to play course. Very nice greens. I always play in the afternoon when the rates can't be beat. Friendly staff.

I am downgrading my initial review. I still like this course but not a lot has changed in the past several years. The traps haven't been raked one time in playing here probably 20 times in the last 3 years. It is definitely one of the easiest courses in the area. The value is still great, however there are several courses in the area which have the same price with much better courses.

Green Acres Golf Course in my eyes has been the best public course I have ever played. The family who started this golf course are nothing but the nicest individuals I have ever met. Just recently there has been new management (within the family) and the new owner is striving each day to make the course better than it already is. If your looking for a challenging yet fun course choose this one. You will have no regrets. The greens are the nicest in the area and as stated in the other post this course if afforable. ( perfect if your looking for a money saver in this economy) All in all best course I have ever played!!!! Enjoy :)

Green Acres is a hidden gem. Great rates during the week, especially for seniors. Not too many parallel holes to hit into other golfers. Greens are way above average for the greens fees. Tremendous value. I only play this course once or twice a year because I live too far away. If I lived closer I'd play it at least once a week. Very friendly staff. You will love this course!

Green Acres is a great public course. Staff is as nice as people can come, but the course doesn't offer the amenities to compete with your higher end public courses. The layout is risk-reward oriented, on most holes but it plays hard if you play sloppy.

This is a fun course to play and very cheap...

Nicest public course of played

This is a nice course, well maintained and wonderful scenery. The front nine is very hilly, which makes for some challenging shots, the back nine has two long par 5 holes that will challenge shot makers.
