This WAS a great course until it got bought out by whomever. Now it simply is NOT worth the price, if you're an average income person. I'd like to play golf and really don't want to use my entire years golf budget on one course. it's like $225.00 ?? NO course is worth that. It is in good condition but about the same as it was with previous owners except that then it was $25.00. A lot of other courses in the area are in as good condition, even the Wisp or Rocky Gap isn't near that. Heck even Nemacolin Woodlands, or the Woods which are excellent courses aren't near that

Reviewed November 01, 2009 my review is a little off-beat from the rest. I shoot in the high 80s to low 90s (I shot an 85 today) and never pay over $50 for a round of golf. I played Bedford Springs because they finally offered a twilight rate of $49 after 2:00 for the winter (though it's gonna get dark before you can finish real soon). This is the first time in years they have offered a lower rate. There are so many more great courses nearby that cost less! Just look a little south at Cacapon where you can pay a bit less for the same type of course! The tees...immaculate. The fairways...beautiful. The staff...super friendly. The greens...soft and receptive. The bunkers...delicious (but stay away). The conditions for Nov. 1st were tremendous. Four seperate tee boxes offer each person their own challenge. Most Par 4s are short...two very long Par 5s. The design fine. However...this course plays east and west throughout. Only one hole plays north to south (6) and one hole south to north (14). That's a lot of holes into the sun! My afternoon round found me teeing into the sun on my first 4 of 5 holes. There are very few dog-legs and only #15 is drastic (it's called Bunker Hill for a reason). I know some of the history of this course, who designed it and all, but it simply cannot justify its cost to play. I guess the price keeps the hackers away which might be a good thing. I would suggest to only play Bedford Springs if you really can afford it...there are similar experiences elsewhere for a lot less. Overpriced for what it is!

Sooner or later this course is going to start receiving the proper recognition it deserves, because it is the best public course in Western PA and certainly among consideration as best in the state. The pedigree of the architects speaks for itself, and that explains why this is no grip it and rip it course. The greens were very sneaky. Conditions were superb, and the staff was spectacular. The par threes are as tough as they come, and the par fives are spectacular. Take the trip on the turnpike to Bedford Springs and you won't regret it. Better yet, take route 30 to it and enjoy the spectacular drive through the laurel highlands.

Go there and play this course.
I can not recomend the Olde Course enough, and I do not feign affection.
I have been fortunate enough to play 5 of the top ten 'rated' courses in the country, and this is the course that I found the most interesting, the most worth the price (which isn't cheap but well worth the cost), the one in the best shape, and the one I've most pined to play again. For any fan of golf course architecture, and fan of a tuff test of golf, this is a - post haste - must play course.
The hotel, spa, pool are all splendid; food is average for how well they do everything else. Treat your lady to the spa so you can go out and attack that course again, you'll want to play it again.

Fantastic layout! A real classic gem. This will be one of the top golf resorts in the country if the standards are kept where they are now. A must, must play.
