You golflink charged my credit card when I made the reservation. At the course they said I hadn't paid on line and they charged me again. You need to return my money.

The review by CoachRas is silly. Complaining about doglegs on golf holes? And also complaining about the trees if yo miss the fairway? Obviously this guy is not a "golfer." If he were, he would know that doglegs and trees are a normal part of a golf course and expected. The course would obviously be very boring if the fairways were all straight and there were no trees. I'm going to assume that he might also have complained about the fact that "this course also contains bunkers." And they even located them in the landing area of most tee shots. What a moron!

Not a huge fan of this course. The bird poop is pretty overwhelming on the back 9. Front 9 is fun, just make sure you keep it in the fairway or you'll be lost in the thick trees.

Short but very challenging. Cheapest of all the Portland munis and located in a busy area so best to play when there's less people out there. Nothing too fancy or pretty out there, but good greens. Really screams traditional. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this course is.

I just recently moved up here, so I was excited about playing one of the local courses. After my round, I have mixed feelings. With the exception of the some of the par 3s, especially #17, every hole looked the same. I thought the par 5s were kind of silly (90* dog legs). And finally the fairways, they were either brown (or dirt) as well as the geese poop everywhere. Enough about the negatives...I thought the greens were in great shape compared to the amount of play the course gets daily. The course is easy to walk. The fact that it opened in 1918, made me appreciate the history of the course. The price is reasonable. My bro and I walked the course and finished in 4 hours even. After I play some of the other courses in the area, I will be back.

This course was alright. It is very flat and the holes tend to be a bit repetitive. There are a lot of trees and it tends to be a bit of a tight driving course. The pace of play was pretty slow, but I enjoyed the course.

OVER 5-1/2 HOURS TO PLAY 18 HOLES HERE!!! (6/13/08)

Avoid this course! I arrived at noon and didn't finish until AFTER 5:30. When I complained about it in the pro shop, they told me I was lucky it wasn't 6-1/2 hours!!!

I strongly suggest you go elsewhere, probably away from all Portland munis. Eastmoreland is a fun course, but not for almost 6 hours. Take your money elsewhere. Your time is valuable too.

Course was in great shape, it rained a little that day. greens where in good shape. The value was good and I can't wait to play there again.

One of the most classic and challenging old city courses I've ever played. I bet you can't shoot under your handicap here!

Certainly a course worth playing. I enjoyed it quite a bit and am planning on playing again soon. The back 9 is more scenic than the front, with some very memorable holes. Number 11 offers an eagle opportunity if you can hit it long over the lake. Number 17 feels like a PGA hole. I was surprised by the one reviewer who said this course is overpriced. It is in fact a relatively inexpensive course for what you get in my opinion. Sure there are better courses in Portland but that's no reason to skip this very nice course. I would suggest that guy quit his day job at McDonald's and go back to school so he can move out of his parent's basement and someday afford to play golf. Is it noteworthy that they sell used golf balls???

Over-Rated . . . Over-Rated!!!!
this course is overpriced, not well maintained, and full of goose droppings. Beware on the 18th, as the range is right beside and I've seen an employee pick up a friends ball when he was collecting errant range balls. You can find used balls for sale, however, in their pro shop. There's much better courses in Portland.
