I like playing this course because it's cheap, and generally there are always tee times available. I've never encountered the grumpy seniors, but could understand it, as it has happened to me on other executive courses. Hole 8 is a cool little par 3, and hole 7 is a fun par 5. Good value course.

I think jhm_007 is WAY off base. Asking if you've checked in with the Club House is simply to help you not have to return to the club house if you did not know, (it is NOT to to make sure you paid!) I also don't think the residents came out to "watch as if you are hoodlums". I think they come out to watch because they like to watch golfers. (Although I will say it does seem like it would be a rather easy course to just walk on without ever going through the proper channels. Maybe they've had issues with that in the past.) Anyway, I think it's a great little course. If you can afford $100+ per round, more power to you, for the money this course is great.

Horrible Experience! It was a sign this day at Claremont will be a bad experience when walking to the 1st hole an old man walking by asks our group if we’ve checked in with the Club House, as if to make sure we’ve paid. The nerve some of these residents at Claremont course have, every hole there was at least someone who came out into their back yard to watch us as if we are hoodlums. On the 7th hole one person came outside to ask (while we were on the green no less) “which hole you guys start at?” We replied “the first”. He then went on to tell us that it is trespassing if we didn’t pay. I couldn’t believe the blatant harassment from theses senior citizens. The next hole we were actually met by a police officer who wanted to see our receipts…. Unbelievable treatment! After showing the officer our receipts we finished up and vowed never to return. This is no big loss anyways the course really isn’t anything special and the sardine houses on both sides of most holes detracts from the little beauty of the course. If you are under the age of 35 avoid this course or risk harassment by Senior Citizens.

I've never played a course with so many homes lining the fairways. This is a nice little 9 hole par 36 course with a couple of long par 5s. Nothing to rave about but you can buy 10 (9 hole) rounds for $99.00. A good deal for sure. Nice for practice rounds. Lakes are a factor on 1, 4 (sort of), 5, 6. 7. 8 and 9.
