The 18-hole "Caledon C.C." course at the Caledon Country Club facility in Inglewood, Ontario features all the hallmarks of Ontario golf. Caledon C.C. golf course opened in 1961. Matt Belacca manages the course as the Golf Professional.
A very pretty course, but a real disappointment on this particular day. Full fees were in effect even though the greens had been top-dressed the week before and were unbelievably sandy - almost unplayable early in the day due to a combination of dew and sand. There should have been an early bird price, plus a notice of the work that had been done. The greens remained problematic even after they dried out. Also, a number of landing areas on fairways had been over-watered, and produced plugged lies. My partner and I played winter rules after the second hole! Still, the most disturbing part of the day was at the end. One of the pro shop staff asked if I'd had a good day, and I said, "Not really", and explained the problems I found (as above.) He said, "I'm sorry you feel that way", but didn't offer any compensation/remedy. In fact, he gave me the distinct impression that it was 'my problem.' I won't play there again - it's unfortunate that this course is busy enough that its staff don't feel they have to show people they care enough to take legitimate criticism to heart. I wasn't looking for a free round or anything - I just wanted to know that someone cared about what I had to say.
