I play FireLake 2-3 times a week at least and have to say unlike the last reviewer that the course is in excellent shape. Yes, the tees were all moved up but that was because they were overseeded with rye grass. You should see them now! Green, green, green! In 2008 they converted to Champion Bermuda greens to combat the Oklahoma heat and they are nice! Nicely priced place for the money. Try the pizza upstairs when you go!

I had heard about this course a while before playing it. I was not impressed at all. Very lacking in maintence of the course, just a simple mowing would have been nice! the greens were covered in granual fertilizer and needed to be watered in. Every time you putted, the ball would be covered in fertilizer! the other golfers seem to have an extremely bad attitude. The man and woman behind us would throw their clubs and cuss up a storm on EVERY bad shot. and that was not uncommon out there. The course has a nice layout, but no maintence at all, the water looked like a swamp! all the teeboxes were moved up to the ladies tee box. Blue, White and red all together. played on 9-19-10

Not a place for a beginner. Too much water, if just learning take a lot of extra balls. It does have some challenges even for a better golfer. Carts need attention but overall pretty good clubhouse, nice scenery at times and not too bad for the money.

Good course, great layout. Par 5's are reachable in two. On hole #1 watch out for errant shots from the driving range (if you want to call it a driving range.) I wish they would buy some carts that did'nt sound like a big rig with worn belts. If they put some time and money into Firelake it would be a wonderful course.

needs money put into it

course is a great layout, lots of water and some challenging shots. The course though has not been kept up as good as it could have. Driving range was like hitting off a field of weed grass. Not much of a clubhouse and the carts were dirty. You won't have a terrible time, it is a good layout, but they need to put some money into it

Firelake GC

Nice course, it is definitely called firelake for a reason lots of water and every time you hit one in your scorecard crashes and burns. The greens were nice they played at a good speed the fairways dont play to long they are very wide on most of the holes. Hole #18 will have you playing out of your mental game if you dont watch it you have 2 choices lay up to the right and then go for the green or you can go over the trees and the pavillion to the left its a low percentage shot but will definitely shave some strokes if you hit it well. the staff is nice the clubhouse is nice, overall one of the best value municipal courses around.

Challenging Beauty!

The Firelake Golf Course is a great value for a challenging 18-hole course! The greens are in pretty good shape (great shape most of the year, but they've just been sanded and aerated for fall!). The tees and fairways are well maintained. They need to keep water in the ball washers - and keep them in repair. The course features A LOT of it's challenging. Plenty of BIG trees line the fairways - it gets costly if you don't keep it in the short grass! The staff usually places the pins in pretty tight spots...very challenging. Undulating greens add to the test. Pretty easy to get GIR...not easy to get down in par! Great restaurant and driving range on the property. The best value for the buck in central Oklahoma! Check out their annual membership - $720 or so INCLUDES the gas cart all year!
