Just so there is more current info on here Emerald Falls is now closed. They were looking into converting it into a "resort" but they have at this point filed bankruptcy.
this is for the last post.. Easy fellow, consider yourself lucky to be n "greens" and not "browns", which are packed sand and oil to create the surface, then light layer of sand to smooh and putt on. Numerous courses here in the states and especially in the Middle East have browns and can cost over $50. I am playing this weekend, don`t expect fantastic conditions on a new course this early in the year. But believe it will be a beautiful day playing a great course.
The greens are in terrible shape. They offered a twenty dollar discount. Not worth it when yoou are putting on sand. Also parts of faairways are in bad shape also. Some places you can loose your ball in the mud.
This course is sweet,,, will only get better in time. Best public course in Oklahoma.
Hard to believe this course opened last fall (07). It is in great shape. There are some confusing fairways which could be fixed by some signs. I had a great time and would play it again and again if I could.
Greens vey hard and very fast. Lots of drainage problems on back 9,(just had some vey big rains a couple of days before I played) some greens have dead spots, some fairways very confusing but excellent to play. Free range balls plus furnished cold bottled water on carts a plus. Friendly people and very professional. Take in mind that they are still building and there is still work to be done. Will be excellent when everything is turning green. Will be beautifull. I recommend this course.
Not Karsten, but... Beautiful course, some confusing holes, like 18 tee box. The hills to the west are a very nice view. I would rank this #1 Public in Oklahoma now..and it will be even better in 2 years.
This course reminded me a lot of Karsten Creek. The greens are very good and roll true. It's long but rewards good shots. I highly recommend this course and bring your A game.
