Shangri-La, imaginary land depicted in the novel Lost Horizon (1933) by James Hilton

1 : a remote beautiful imaginary place where life approaches perfection : utopia
2 : a remote usually idyllic hideaway

This place is absolutely my "Shangri-la".

I played there on a clear blue sky day, 70 degrees, with the entire facility to ourselves, just us and our caddies!

I have played it several times like this. "Crowded" means seeing other groups!

The course is a true test for every level, especially holes 5, 6, & 7.

If you get the invite, do NOT pass this up.

They sent their chef to France to learn how to cook - don't skip the dining room!

This place is extremely private but has a very relaxed feeling. Everyone is there to play golf and enjoy a beautiful facility.

Central Ohio's Best Course

This is a private, men only, course not many people get to see. However, its meticulous trimming and maintenance, difficulty and uniqueness of each hole, and quiet country setting are not to be missed if you're ever offered the chance. Its fairways put most other club's greens to shame and it is consistently in several golf publications top courses.

Hole 1 you must fly a creek on your drive only to land in a valley and then approach an uphill green guarded by sand all around.

Hole 2 has fairway bunkers so big there are old animal skulls in them giving a "lost in the desert" feel.

Hole 3 you must fly the lake but don't go left...that bunker is 8 feet deep.

I won't spoil any more for you. If you ever get the opportunity drop everything to play this course.
