Amenities (2.5 stars): Average accomodations for this type of course. Use the facilities before setting off -- there isn't a restroom until the end of the 8th hole.

Difficulty (2.5 stars): Not too challenging. The course has wide, forgiving fairways and short roughs. The trees can occasionally pose a problem, but the other hazards (water, bunkers) aren't much of a threat. The greens are of average size and speed.

Maintenance (3.5 stars): The greens are a little bumpy, but fairways and tee boxes are as good as one can expect. The rough is kept short underneath the huge trees.

Scenery (3 stars): Green Crest adjoins two highways (I-75 & local 129), both of which are undergoing construction. As well-maintained as the course is, it's impossible to ignore the side-of-the-road feel the highway creates. Traffic can be seen from several holes (some of which butt right up to it) and can be heard everywhere.

Value: The rates are fair all things considered. The place runs a lot of off-day specials and group discounts, so look into those if you want to save a few bucks.

Final note: The folks at Green Crest must have taken those "pace of play" complaints to heart. The course marshal rushed us on to the first tee and another staffer stalked us in a cart for the next six holes monitoring our play. Our least experienced player sat out a few holes for fear of "holding things up" which really isn't the way you should feel after spending a bunch of money there.

If you have 5 1/2 to 6 hours to play a round of golf on early saturday morning this is the place. Pace of play is BRUTAL!!!! No one seems to care in the clubhouse, they allow walkers before 10AM. This is the worst pace of play golf course in cincinnati by far.
