Christopher Morley Park golf course is a great course for newer golfers, seniors and juniors. Or, even more experienced golfers that want to play a quick round. The course is located inside Christopher Morley Park, which also offers other outdoor activities like swimming. So, pack a lunch and make a day out of enjoying the 98-acre park property.

The biggest thing to be aware of is the cost. If you are a resident of Nassau County, the price is half ($20) of what it is for non-residents ($41.) That might be enough to turn away some, but I still think this course is worth playing for a few different reasons.

All of the holes are Par 4 or less, which makes this a great course to practice your short game. In fact, with the longest hole (#7) at only 300 yards, strong golfers probably won’t even need to bring a driver to the course. Christopher Morley Park golf course is the perfect golf course to practice club selection.

The course itself is hilly with large trees, but no water features. It’s a relatively straightforward course that offers a relaxed pace of play. The highlight of the course is Hole #9, with a big tree in the middle of the fairway to challenge your aim. This is a municipal course with 9 executive holes. It’s a Par 30 course.

The course is older (built in 1961) and definitely needs some updating. The course is straightforward and I think more experienced golfers might even find it boring.

This is a good course to bring juniors to. After 2pm, children over 7 can golf for free. You won’t be rushed at this course, and there is just enough challenge for a junior golfer to keep your round interesting.

Amenities are fairly limited at the course. There is a small kiosk which acts as the clubhouse. Drinks and snacks are available, but not full meals. You can however rent carts and clubs if you need to. Given how short the holes are, you can walk this course very comfortably.

If you’re looking for a great practice course in Nassau County, Christopher Morley Park golf course is definitely worth a look. Just be prepared for an older course and a higher price if you aren’t a resident of Nassau County.
