This is a solid choice for the beginner golfer who wants to improve their game. You’ll find a series of relatively short holes here, ranging from 70 yards (Hole #4) to 120 yards (Holes #3, 5 and 7.)

Sandy Pond Golf Course is a straightforward course with wide-open fairways and straight shots to the green. It’s a great place to master the fundamentals of the game like aim and club selection in a low pressure setting. It’s a well maintained course and quite nice looking for a public course.

Watch out for sand traps behind the green on Hole #1 and on the left of the fairway on Hole #2. These traps add some interest to the course and challenge newer golfers to develop the skill of hitting out of a sand bunker.

This would be a great course to take a junior or a first-time golfer. Most golfers with even a few years of experience would probably find the course to be too straightforward or easy. Sandy Pond is a good option for those who are brand new to the game of golf, or who want to brush up their skills.

The atmosphere at the course is relaxed and not rushed. It’s the perfect place to take your time setting up the perfect shot and testing out different clubs to see what works best for you. The green fee is a steal at $11. Don’t rule Sandy Pond out - it’s a good spot to warm up at the start of the new season or experiment with a new technique.

After trying a few "real" golf courses as a beginner (and being thoroughly intimidated by all the "real" golfers who were annoyed with my inept play) Sandy Pond was a great find. I worked out my basic kinks there, and got my first clues about strategy, and now my wife is playing her first games there, without any pressure. BTW the two longest holes are 160 yards...most others are 100-120.

SANDY POND OR AS MY FRIENDS AND I CALL IT SHADY POND, IS A SMALL PAR 3 9 HOLE COURSE. 2 OUT OF THE 9 HAVE SOME DIFFICULTY, HOWEVER THE COURSE IS A GREAT PLACE TO PRACTICE YOUR SHORT IRON PLAY. AND AT 11 DOLLARS FOR NINE HOLE AND THE FACT NOBODY IS EVER THERE, I DO PLAY AND ENJOY "SHADY" POND 3-4 TIMES A YEAR.
