This remains one of my favorite courses in the Binghamton area just for the scenery alone. The course is always challenging and the chances of spotting wildlife is everpresent. This year we saw two bobcats in the morning....nice

Nice little course. Bring your short game.

This was the worst course we have been to. It was a vertical climb...and not at all worth it. The course was weedy and unkept. I can see that I am not the only one with this opinion. Save your money, you might as well play in your back yard.

Ok little course, not very hard, open on most holes and drivable greens. Greens are small but most are taken care of well. Hills everywhere, fairways ok clover mixed in not smooth, tee boxes ok, average course and good easy play for the amount of money

Not for me

I played one hole, turned around and left. Just seeing first hole, looking down #2 fairway and seeing numbers 9&18 (last half to green) was enough for me. Fairways looked weedy and unkempt. First green (while rolled decent) was spotty and hole looked like it has been there awhile. While I didn't see the whole course, I spoke to a friend later in the day and he said last year, he got to the fourth hole before he walked off. IMHO, don't waste your money or gas driving there. I had to rate the course difficulty to submit my rating even though I did not play. I was going off someone else's opinion.

Blue Stone golf course

The hilliest course I have ever played in N.Y. state. This course is built into the side of a mountain. The layout is quirky, and you're sure to play better on it the second time around. Several holes are straight up the mountain, and several are straight down. The fairways were a bit ratty when I played it, but then it's got to be tough keeping grass seed on a 60 degree slope without having some washout. The rough can be tall and punishing, and the greens are undulating and fast. The top of the course greets you with a sign that says "Welcome to Water World"-no joke, the sign is there. These holes are pretty neat in that they wind through a swamp located on the very top of the mountain. It's an interesting geographical anomalie. Aside from that, rock outcroppings, steeply sloping fairways, and tricky doglegs slowly whittle away at your hopes for par. Take an extra dose of Prozac before you play this monster, and don't forget the defibrillator. I don't think Lance Armstrong could walk this course. The clubhouse is basic, but does offer food and beverages. The staff is friendly and the carts are in good shape (thank God). It's worth a round, just to say you did it.

Very nice low-cost course

Blue Stone is well-tended and well-kept. The service is very friendly and the course is challenging. It's not a high priced country club course by any means, but for the price it is excellent golf. The club house isn't anything special but for me, the course is what matters. Both the front and back 9 start on a hill up to the top. Once up top, the views are spectacular and the holes and nicely done. It is a course I have enjoyed every time I've gone.

I would recommend this course to pretty much anyone.
