Tried this course today for the first time. I can echo the earlier comments. More links like on the front, tighter with good elevation changes on the back. Greens are small and fast but are mounded and tend to be hard to hit and stay on. 10 and 11 are nice holes and interesting. Not very long but does require accuracy. $30 for 18 and a cart make it a good value.

Played on 8/21/11. A few of my friends have said that they didn't like it, but we had a coupon so we gave it a try. I was very pleased. Like the other reviews suggest, the front nine has sort of a Brittish feel to it. The back nine is more wooded. Many of the greens are small and even good approach shots can still miss. One complaint I have is that it wasn't mowed in some of the tee boxes, and several of the fairways had long grass. It was frustrating to hit a fantastic drive only to find my ball buried in rough smack in the center of the fairway. The scenery is fantastic and the clubhouse has a rustic charm. I understand that this is a relatively new course, and I have no doubt that over time this will develop into a very nice place.

A new course with potential....I've played here a few times since they opened in 08' and have seen steady improvement. There are some fundamental problems that will require time and money to resolve. The front nine is the "new" nine. This was designed to be a more open "links style" experience. True links courses have medium to large greens. Not so here. 90% of the greens are shaped like a Pillsbury crescent roll, and tiny. To add to that, they are mounded (domed) and in some cases, tiered. Hitting such a green is hard enough...holding them is impossible. The front 9 is also irrigated by nature and an occassional water truck. Luckily, we've had a pretty wet season so far, but they will need to invest in irrigation to prepare for global warming (lol). The back nine (original family owned private course) suffers the same greens, but is much swampier. Irrigation doesn't seem to be an issue on this side, but you'd better be hitting it straight. The fairways and greens are much more established here, and a good chipping/putting game can lead to low scores. Course knowledge helps alot too as there are some quirks on both nines. All that said, the price is great, the equipment new, and the staff friendly. Add a nice clubhouse and bar/grille to the mix, and it makes for a fine day in the field.

Agree with TaylorJR. Played this course a few times last year. Back 9 is very pretty, lots of elevation changes. Front 9 is more Links style (like Hiawatha Links for the locals). It is a new course, and was still matruing near the end of the season.. cant wait to try it this year.

The only complaint I have is like the poster above, the small greens that are mounded. Even if you have a good short game, you WILL be challenged to not only hit the greens, but stick it on the green.

Overall great course though...and lots of fun to play. And GREAT bang for the buck.

This is a new course with some issues, such as the fairways need to mature more. The family that owns it is working on the course and it will be a decent course in the future. The clubhouse is an old barn that has been renovated and is quite nice. the biggest problem I had with the course are the small greens that are mounded. Putting is a challenge. Overall the price with a cart is a great deal $25.00 and I will return.
