I worked on the grounds crew from 2000-2004 then joined the Marine Corps. Now I work at Fairbanks Ranch CC in San Diego. I have played golf at many many Country Clubs and golf courses and Seven Oaks is still by far my favorite. I haven't played there since I left back in 2004 but I have heard that the new Superintendent has done some work and improved the overall condition. If you like golf and you are in the area its a must play and its usually never real busy. Bring your A game because if you don't you might not like it! I have played probably close to 400 rounds there best score 73 should have been a 67 here are a few tips. A par on #1 is a great score. Stay short and left of the pin on #2. A well struck driver can carry the trees on the right of #4 a 3 wood will carry the little stream if you can carry it 230. If you really hit a driver well and straight you can carry the big trees that guard the second part of #7 hit it through the uprights if not 225-230 will stick you in the neck of the fwy. #10, 3 wood stay right. #13 driver will get you to the green 3 wood will leave you 50 2 iron down the middle will leave you 125. #17 if you hug the left side and put a little draw on it you can drive the green or carry the little stream easily if not hit it 210 off the tee and hit a pw in. #18 hit it straight or with a little draw or you are screwed. If you have over 210-220 into the green lay up, try this hole from the tips its tough. In fact play the entire course from the tips and you will get your moneys worth. ***all of my tips are from the maroon tees. Is is really 80 bucks to play there on the weekend now?

This course is beautiful. Very difficult from the championship tees and the greens are nearly perfect! A must play if you are in the Central NY region. A stay at turning stone casino would warrant the 25 minute drive to play this course. It is a bit expensive but the money is well invested back into the course. The PGA Pro and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Great Experience. A fall round here has some of the best folliage around!

One of my favorite courses anywhere...rate it right up there with Oakland Hills, Inverness and others. Great track. Very challenging, especially from the tips. Staff is very friendly, have never had a slow round. They put their money into the course and it shows...continually improving it over time as well. A bit remote for most, but an absolute must play if you are in the area.
