Great course and great value. Bethpage Green is located adjacent to the Black course on the same set of rolling hills that 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Black are built on. The course features a lot of elevation changes with quite a few tee boxes elevated a considerable distance above the fairway making for fun tee shots. My only negative comment about the course is that several of those elevated tees could use some stairs as opposed to the steep dirt path that leads up to the top. Similar to the Black the course also features a lot of bunkers, especially around the greens. Course maintenance was excellent... no matter what course at Bethpage you play you always see crews constantly out on the course filling in fairway divots, hand watering sensitive areas or just touching things up a bit. I found myself in quite a few bunkers and every one was full of deep fluffy sand that was well raked... something you often don't see at a municipal course. This course is another great part of the Bethpage collection and will make for an enjoyable and affordable round.

Played in early September 2009. The 3rd hole has been closed due to maintenance, which is fine but they chopped a very nice par 5 into 2 holes - a par 3 & a par 4 - so the course played as a par 70. The round played at usual municipal pace - 4.5 to 5 hours. The major problem was that the green had recently been aerated & were terrible - usually the automated phone service warns you so I was dissapointed. Its still a very nice course & $41 on a weekend is terrific for a Bethpage course. Challenging but rewarding.

Wide open fairways and relatively short course, but the greens are difficult with multiple tiers and undulations. The elevated tees give you a great view, especially the First Tee which starts off right next to the Black tee box. Great price, great course.

best muni course i have ever played on...wide open fairways and plenty of space to rip it off the tee...the weather was great during our front nine...steady rain came through but the course still played fast...the course has excellent drainage systems and the grounds men do a wonderful job of maintaining the fairways...looking forward to the US Open 2009!!!

A lot more difficult than it gets credit for. There are bunker traps all over the course.

Bethpage Green a great secret

Played the Green on 9/3/06. Terrific! Despite crowded waits for other Bethpage courses, we walked in (without reservations) and were off in 30 mins. Very challenging and varied course in very good condition; greens would be better if more golfers fixed their ball marks. Beautiful vistas on fairways, tough roughs and and traps with small dangerous greens. An excellent value at $36/round.
