Nice views of casinos on several holes. Tee boxes were in good condition.

Some interesting holes, one had an island green. Challenging pin locations. Surprisingly hilly.

Greens were in bad condition with small rocks all over and tons of ball marks that were not repaired.

We haven't had rain in 4 months, lots of dead grass in the rough.

Sand traps were clay bottom with maybe an inch of sand. Impossible to hit out of. Some bunkers were very deep.

Way too many two-somes that were not grouped together that caused a slow pace of play.

Overall, not worth the 2-3x surcharge vs. playing at a municipal course.

very nice an accommodating staff. beautiful course well maintained and great bunkers (two types here: bunkers and waste areas, not to be confused) priced about right at 150

I played this course Christmass week. I was in Vegas for the first time and wanted a once in a life time experience. I happened to get a 50% off discount on green fees and still Payed $135. I'll start with the good and finish with the bad. The Course is beautiful. Just like the adds say, palm trees, water features, white sand bunkers. Proshop and other ammenities are 5 star quality. Driving range has the net but also has an automatic ball tee system that I found really nice.
Now for the bad. The adds don't tell you about the constant noise from the jets coming in for landing every 30 seconds. You only get about 15 seconds of peace before another jet comes in. The fairways are beautifull but hard as a rock. Before you get used to not taking any divots you end up skulling and blading alot of shots on the hard pan. The white sand is not sand. Looks and feels more like Gypsum. Not very deep and very crusty and gritty, be carefull not to get any in your eyes. My wife will tell you it stings. The course is not difficult. Front nine is easier than the back nine, even with the jets drowning out all conversation. The back nine you have to put up with all the helicopters flying over every few minutes to see if any cellebrities are putting on the greens. All in all not a pleasant experience. If you want my advise, visit the proshop, Buy a souvenier to say you were there and spend your money on the tables. You'll have more fun. Don't waist your money here at any price.

Agree with most of what has been said earlier. A MUST PLAY!! Staff was excellent. Beware...This course has a slope of 125 and it has to be 130-133. I would play again to see if I could improve score

Pros: Just south of the strip. Didn't need to rent a car or use the entire day to play. Attentive, nice staff. Pretty course.

Cons: Practice facilities were not good. Driving range hits into a net 60 yards away. NO CHIPPING area. NO GPS. At $250 I expected GPS, come on! Bunkers were were hard as cement. Pro shop charges a lot for everything. $12-18 for three balls was a bit much. Earlier review was correct. The course exists because zoning forbids any tall buildings this close to the airport. Planes, exhaust and traffic were fairly common.

I did not play well here, unfortunately which colors my review. But I was surprised by the practice facilities, exhaust and lack of gps. Nice staff. Very interesting features, hidden water and variety of holes. But not worth the money in my book. I'd rather feel I was out in the dessert than looking at Mandalay Bay hotel and airplanes every other hole.

UPDATE: I played this course again since it was only $90 for twilight and I wanted to avenge my bad score. For this price, it's a pretty fun place to go. The course was in nice shape and I found it surprisingly fun the second time around. It's nice challenge, but it's kind of gimicky. The longer par 4's on the back nine were fun to play this time. This is a fun course I will play again, but only for $100 - $159 or so. Once the tee times get to the $275 - $325 range this course becomes too pricey and not worth it. Quick tip. Try Sterling Golf Services. They delivered rental clubs to Mandalay Bay for $35 and picked them up. We decided to play a second round at Paiute and just called them up and arranged to keep the clubs another day. They were great. Rentals at Bali Hai are $75. Bring your own balls or visit the Nike store in Mandalay Bay. Bali Hai Charges up to $80 for a dozen balls.

Overall - GREAT experience.

This course is gorgeous and a MUST play for golfers of all skill levels. A 'diamond in the rough' deep in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the World.

Not worth the fare

Spend the extra $200 and go to Cascata or make the drive out to Wolf Creek and save a bit for a far better golf experience. The course is on the airport route... CONSTANT planes overhead, exhaust fumes, and shadows.

Great Course

I played this course on my first day in Vegas and was pleasantly pleased with the layout. The conditions were impeccable, the pin placements for a Thursday were a little tough (back and crested) except for the 6th (upfront)where I popped my first ever ACE with an 8 iron (it was playing around 152 yds that day). The forecaddy we had (Jeff) was excellent and the amentiies were very adequate. The staff is very attentive. The condensed driving range is very cool and just enough of what you need for a warmup. The food at the turn was good and there was a beverage cart that you saw at least every 2 holes. Play this course and you will have a day well spent (no pun intended).
