Greatly improved over the past several years in terms of maintenance. Fairways generally well-manicured and greens roll true. Probably pricey for non-county residents, though, compared to other daily fee courses in northern New Jersey. No practice facility (other than a practice green and very small pitching area) or golf pro, play can be extremely slow during peak hours.

Rudest staff I've ever encountered at a golf course, especially the woman behind the counter, who acted like she was doing me a favor taking my money, and the starter, who was condescending. The course itself is beautiful and as a high-handicapper I found it challenging.

This is the nicest of the three Essex County courses. It is often difficult to get a good tee time for a weekend round, but when you can get on the course, it is worth it - even though a weekend round can take 5 hours. The fairways are typically in good condition and the greens roll nicely. They have performed a lot of improvements over the past several years that have increased the draw to this course. It is a nice round, even if it is not the most difficult course one can find. Always a pleasure to play.

Played the course today April 10th. Not worth the $66.00, greens were in terrible shape, fairways full of mud, bunkers hard as a rock. Save your money!

Nicest Essex County Course of the 3. Cleanest and Greenest too. Love the Hills. There are alot of holes that are either way up or way down hill.

Reviewed June 13, 2008

Played it on Friday, June 13th. The woman behind the desk was cold. The tee boxes, for the most part, were in very bad shape. the course is pretty good for a muni, HOWEVER, After the 12th hole I had to leave, because it took 3 1/2 hours to get that far! The course is WAY overbooked. There is no excuse for a 5 1/2 hour round; especially for $55.00 for non residents. I will NEVER play here again.

FOr a county course you can't beat the price. It gets a little worn by late summer but is still worth playing.

The course is kept up okay, and it is challenging, it's no sunset Valley. The staff are a bunch of bullies who think they are golf pros or something. Very crowded with the Korean community and is very slow playing. a single walk on could wait up to three hours to get on.

The people who work there are condescending.

Violated Part 2

This course too is a travesty along with Hendricks. Although it looks a lot better than Hendricks, they also charg non-resident members the regular rate until after 1:00pm. Once again, I thought you are supposed to welcome out of towners? This makes no sense at all to me! They too have some real corrections to make. $250.00 is a lot of money for a non-resident membership to be treated in this manner.

Couple toughies on the back

particularly 12 and 15 are long par 4's that are tough. 12 slants hard down hill and is not forgiving for a tee shot that is on the right side. 15 generally will leave you with a very long approach and could almost play as a par 5 if they moved the tee back 40 yds. 16 is so so but 13 14 17 and 18 are scoreable
