This course is great and terrible depending on what you are looking for. The price......fabulous. $17 to walk after 3p.m on the weekend, can't beat it. The course isn't in bad condition, but the rough is R-O-U-G-H. You could easily lose a ball just missing the fairway by a few yards. The holes aren't really that interesting and they don't have logo balls which is a huge disappointment, but it is out in the middle of nowhere which provides a nice country feel. Overall rating a C+

This course could be a real hidden gem. I played on a summer weekend evening and teed off at 5:30. There were two other players on the course and I finished in 2:15.

The holes are all pretty straight forward, but the greens are actually quite good. Fun coutours, varied sizes, and cool falloffs around some bunkers; these greens are about as interesting as you'll find on a mom & pop type course. However, they hadn't been cut in days, and they were way overwatered. Hence, they were slow, bumpy, and not very fun to putt.

The second issue is with the trees that have grown in and around many tee boxes. You hit many drives through tunnels of trees, and even decent shots could catch a branch on the way out, especially from the back tees.

If they took a chainsaw to some trees, cut back on the watering, mowed the greens a bit tighter, they'd have one of the neatest little 9 holers you'll find, and a course that would make a perfect place for a quick nine or some quality practice.

as the other raters have stated. this course for $25.00 is will use all of your clubs on this course from long par fours to the decent par threes. there are abssolutely no ammenities to this course. just golf. a good golfer would probably be bored with this course but the average golfer will find a challenge..the greens are well maintained and very large for a nine hole course..over all it is worth a play especially for the low budget player who cant afford these expensive courses.. tell you what, for the price you can actually afford to play this game at latona...enjoy

Nice little family run course with the best greens for the money. Can be very challenging. NOT SHORT! Hit from the front tee boxes on the front 9, the backs on the back 9! Have some "affordable" fun!!

Fun Course

This is a fun course as long as you maintain your ball in the fairway. The ruff is a workout as well as the sand. If you are a novice you'll find this course a challange. Better players will like the course for a tune up game. Although only 9 holes, play the second 9 from the blues and the course changes enough to make it worth while.

Great value and getaway

I love Latona for many reasons: the value (you can ride for less than $25), the location (for me its 20 mins and I feel like I am in another state, amidst farms and trees its a great getaway from the busy-ness of life), I like the layout with a good mix of length and par 3's - when my game is struggling I only have to go back to Latona to get a tune-up. Check it fact, 2 of my favorite courses are in Buena.
Please note though: if you are someone who is into amenities this is not the place for you - but you can get a good hot dog and a gatorade.

Fun and Cheap

The course at the right time of year has well matained green (but still not to be confused with high end courses) and tee boxes which most 20$ courses decide not to tend to. For 15$ to walk with your own push cart the price is unbeatable in south jersey, and a good challenge if you dont hit the ball 300 yards. The fairways are the weak point of the course but the yardage difference between hitting the fairway and the rough are dramatic, the bunkers are kept in good condition and arent a sure out for a weekend golfer. Overall I would suggest trying this course atleast once.
