This was absolutely the WORST "rat-trap" I've ever played anywhere in New Jersey!! From the moment I walked into the "Pro Shop"(and I use that term loosely), I could tell it was going to be a rough day. The carpet inside was stained, smelled of mold and spilled beer, and maybe had 2 or 3 shirts on the wall for sale. So going outside to load our bags onto these gas powered carts that must be at least 20 years old, well that was an experience in of itself. When we(the 8 of us playing) were finally able to properly secure the bags, off we went to the #1 tee. I'm actually surprised the cart made it there... felt like the suspension under was going to give out, and I was SURE it was not going to last the round. Now, onto course conditions. Three words- HIRE A GOAT!!! Yes, to cut the rough, the fairways, the tee boxes and the greens. There were patches of dirt and sand everywhere on the course including the greens!!! I have never been so unhappy in my life playing a POS track like this. The management obviously takes no pride in preserving the game of golf. By the name of the course, it really should be a "FREE" way to play, because they aren't even worth $10.00 for a green fee. Stay FAR AWAY from this course!! So many other options in the area that are MUCH better!

Played here many times great people and it used to be a great course in excellent shape do not know what they are trying to accomplish now though as they have destroyed the layout

This golf course is what it is, simply the run of the mill course totally wide open with the exception of a few holes on the back nine. It's long as well, so if you need practice with your long irons or driver without fear of losing balls this is the place to go. But if you want some real golf with some nice holes then there are far better values like Pitman. They do have logo ball, a plus for me, but the value, maintainance, and uniqueness are severely lacking. Overall rating- D

some of these bad reviews have an agenda other than rating the golf course ,i have always been treated fine this is an african american owned course here, very laid back staff, yes the driving range is alongside the tenth hole, its really not a problem, very cool course its like two courses in one the front nine is open and tree lined while the back nine winds over terrain and through trees .i really like the back nine ,have really seen nothing like it anywere else, have never had a bad time at the course.

Great place, played this course 20 plus years ago. It was like a reunion with an old friend. Fairways were very nice, greens were near perfect, staff very nice and family oriented. Dont judge a course by its price, this one plays like a $65.00 plus course, but alot cheaper. Check this course out, u wont be disappointed!!

Showed up at 7 AM for my tee time (7:28 AM) and could not get started until 8 AM. Quoted $29 for round on phone when tee time was booked but manager realized would be busy on 7/3 so told pro shop to charge $35. Start over a half hour late and charge more than quoted, one choice made...NEVER GO BACK

Reviewed May 15, 2009

Ok, lets start at the pro shop, the guy at the pro shop desk was very short and rude to me from when I first walked in to when I grabbed my score card. Then we go out to the first whole which is very long and fairly well maintained, as quickly as the third whole however the course takes a turn for the worse. I pulled up to the green on the 3rd whole and was attacked by thousands of ground bees, which were a problem on about 8 of the 18 wholes on the course. The back nine of the course looks and feels nothing like the front nine of the course and the fairways could use some work. My favorite whole is of course no.10 where you hit your drive into a fairway which runs parallel to the driving range and is absolutely covered in range balls, so good luck trying to find your ball regardless of where you hit it. I believe the course should be about 22 twilight and at the most 35 weekends. I probably won't go back to this course.

Ok,this is a course that until they change staffing the "Godd Ole Boy" network type people then I don't see myself coming back. The golf pro doesn't have to ride around telling people hay "I'm the pro",a real golf pro gets notice just by the way he/she runs their prospective course. This could be one of the best course in Nj,but it is so mis-managed it's pythetic.Sicklerville could be a hot golf spot if they spend the money to fix it up.I moved here in 74 and the same club house is still there,Just walk in and you can smell it.Again if manage right this could be one of the most premier black runned golf courses.Out with the old and in with the new designs. It's time for some people to retire

I really like this course. The first hole is looong. Excellent value, so a lot of people play it. Well maintained even though it gets so much traffic.

First time playing here. The course isn't the hardest I ever played, but it was in nice shape and played well. The rangers and the proshop staff were very nice. I will return to play it again.

I played twice in this course, it is very satisfactory, nice scenery. Proshop staffs are nice. 1st hole is somewhat overwhelming for a beginner like me, after that it is managenable lay-out. Back 9 holes are better than the front 9.

Reviewed July 11, 2008

Place was much nicer than I thought. Greens were well maintained when I played this week (w/o 7/7/08). Fairways were hard as a rock which makes for some good or bad roll. Front nine definitely wide open and a little blaze, on the positive side you won't lose a ball. Back nine much nicer scenery, difficulty increased with a couple dog legs.

nice course for the beginner.

Reviewed May 19, 2008

Ok course. Back nine is much better than front. Has more character. Front is just flat and open. Was in very good shape when I played about a week ago, early May.

the course isnt in bad shape. freeway would probably be one of the last choices for me to play.the course plays slow with no enforcement. i gues for $35.00 these days its not bad but i just wasnt to thrilled about playing around what appeard to be a bunch of people who dont know the rules of the game.

Best course in New Jersey. Flat, firm conditions . . . plays just like St. Andrews, but with a bigger road to look at.

Nice course for the $$$. Wide open front 9, little trickery on the back.
