One of the finest courses I've played In NJ.

What a difficult course! I can't imagine another public course any more harder. a tremendous challenge. as a 7 handicapper, I shot 13 over, but my driver was really off. undulation and sand are the repetitive words here. undulating fairways, undulating greens, sand traps along the fairways. You must hit it straight, and then not too far. some greens look like a catch basin, with the pin at the center of the drain. very expensive, but typical for the jersey shore.
no. 9 resembles bayhill's 18, a dogleg left around a lake. plenty of distinct holes, a nice balance of straightforward and risk/reward holes. a combo of traditional(tree-lined) and links on each hole.
a true test of patience, strategy, and skill. looking forward to playing it again. paraphasing a famous song: if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.

Played it twice - June 2006 and June 2007, couldn't break 110 either time, and I usually shoot in the high 80's / low 90's at the Crystal Springs courses. If you can't keep it in the fairway, you're in the sand on just about every hole. I look forward to going there again this June and testing my game again.. By the way - it took 6 hours both times...

Ok course but they need a ranger who will more things along. Just because people are on vacation, it doesn't mean it is a 6 hr. round. Also, Conditioning sometimes suffers. They should tell customers true condition if asked on the phone. There are better options in the area.

Played there this past weekend. The course was in good shape for mid March. The bunkers (so many I couldn't believe) were in decent shape. It was windy so it made a difficult course even tricker. Lots of sand. Still having nightmares from it.

Just got back from NJ and the course was in perfect shape for late November. The greens were spectacular, the fairways were like the fringe of most courses. I play it every Thanksgiving and never regret it.

Played 8/14/07. Expected better after viewing their website. The sand from one bunker to another was inconsistant; sand to gravel to dirt. Most of the fairways were beaten up. Divots all over the fairways. Nobody likes to replace their divots on this course. Tee'd off at 9:50am and the greens weren't even brushed off by that time. Its a shame the course was in such bad shape. For $100 I expected better. Not going to play this course again. not worth it.

This is a wonderful course

Just go play it ... it is wonderful but bring your 'A' game - sand wedge.
