Love this course, there was very few people, it's five minutes from my work so I decide to try it. I was blown away, the course is celebrating it's 100th year and it really was it great condition. I play Galloping Hill and this course is minutes from there, but this is less crowded, cheaper, and a really nice track! I have to admit I was worried because of the Newark address, but I felt very safe, there is a 7 foot fence that surrounds the place and you wouldn't even know your at an Urban Golf course if not for the 6th hole. I will definitely be back.

Played this course for the very first time yesterday, as a walk-on. First, the staff was great and the course, well, it’s a county course, so don’t expect it to be manicured like some of the non county courses, however, in nice shape. I actually enjoyed playing here and will return. Walking the course is pretty easy, no cart needed. The only two concerns that I found with this course was some of the tees and field of play are right next to each other and you better keep your eye on your ball, because someone may come along and play your ball. No bullet proof vest required here, only a helmet; balls flying over your head.

Very nice staff, especially a fellow by the name of Frank (complimented me on my swing lolol). The kitchen makes a mean fried fish sandwich. A little over priced. greens a bit tricky Dont let the other reviews fool you the play is rather quik also!!!

Not a bad course at all. Forget the bad reviews, this course was good, staff was very pleasant and worth playing again. Slightly overpriced for an old county course though.

Challenging Course to work out your issues. Great Course hope more people believe its "ghetto" and the other negative reviews, because its a pleasure to walk and just play a solid round of golf on a NJ course.

The course was in terrible shape and there was a Bee’s nest on the first hole and the people didn’t seem to want me there. I did not feel safe or welcome there and would not recommend going there.

I've played this golf course serveral times. Its fun, the fairways are narrow...a few good par 3's...slopes are medium...its a decent course to play...but if ur looking for a challenge this may not be it...

i'm a 14-handicap, so i enjoy a challenging yet rewarding course. but you won't find that here. i tried this course out for the first and last time. hate to say it, but it's ghetto. i wish i had another word for it. the tee-boxes are in terrible condition. so bad that even the course employees don't want you to place your bag on the grass. i guess they don't want them getting any worse than they already are. also, you'll be getting ready to tee-off and then you'll hear thumping hip-hop right around the corner to help you along. the staff are not friendly at all. in fact i can't seem to understand what they're talking about for the most part. they seem to just mumble their way through the day.

in conclusion, do not play here, unless they for some reason decide to offer a round for $10. otherwise, it's a complete rip-off and like i said before, "ghetto".

Difficult to keep the ball on the fairway, but who said golf was supposed to be easy..Best County COurse, very nice people unlike byrne...If you wanna get yelled at and wait 3 hours to play, then go to byrne, but if you want to be treated well and get on the well kept course quicky then go to weequahic.

I played the back nine here. There slopes are difficult to handle...and also i was having a bad day...
the turn off about this is the narrow fairways...

Well Respected Course

This course is your best option for Essex County. You are allowed to play anytime for the non-resident member rate unlike Hendricks and Francis Byrne. They welcome you with open arms, treat you with respect as a out of towner and the course is fun! I wish the other two courses would come to there senses and give respect to non-resident members like Weequahic does. Keep up the good work!
