This is a bit of a belated review - I had the opportunity to play Laurel Creek for a match in high school, probably 9-10 years ago.

It was without a doubt the nicest course I have played, including the courses I have played since. Conditions were impeccable, the view once you cross the bridge from the clubhouse to the course is spectacular, and it was a tremendous overall experience.

I normally shot mid 40's on 9 holes, and here I shot a 60. But I was so enamored with the course that I truly didn't care.

After a year hiatus from golf, I'm trying to get my game back to where it was a few years ago. And I may have an "in" with a member of Laurel Creek, so if the opportunity arises again, I would play in a heartbeat.

Perfect course and atmosphere!

I have been fortunate enough to play Laurel Creek a few times and jump at any chance to play. The course is not really long from the tips, but with only 3 par 5s, a 73.9 rating and 146 slope, it will kick your a**. What makes this course difficult are the undulating greens, tight fairways, fairway mounding and elevation changes, and long fescue that eats balls, clubs, and wrists. Good thing about hitting into the fescue is that I usually lose my Pinnicle and find a Pro V. Also, the course is set up so that you'd be stupid to bomb the driver on every hole, so it is longer than the card. There are no GPSs on carts, so it is a good idea to invest in a yardage book at the proshop.

I enjoy all of the holes, except for 8 which seems like they wedged it in for lack of space. It is an over 90 degree dog left, and seems gimmicky to me. Memorable holes for me are 2 and 3, 5, 7, and 16-18, which will ruin anyone's game. The wind comes into play most of the time.

Appearance wise, the only negative is the houses that line some holes, but they are pretty far removed from the course for the most part, and I find myself not noticing them. Other than the houses (which are beautiful homes), the course is asthetically beautiful. Maintenance is what one would expect from a high end private course - no clover or weeds in sight. Fairways are as tight as many muni greens -- and in better shape.

Pace of play for a foursome is basically how fast can you play.

The clubhouse has a great but small bar downstairs with good draft beer and food. Locker room is enormous and elegant. Driving range is top notch, and has balls better than most in my bag.
