This course is a challenge on a windy day, but I CANNOT recommend it to anyone, unless you want to possibly get injured by someone else's errant shot, and there are many of them. I am not a great player, but I average around 92. This is a hackers paradise, and you need a helmet here. altho, I think the back nine is pretty decent. I'd pass on this one, tho

This course is crap and overcrowded. They also allow walkers on the weekend when it should be cart only with the amount of tee times the book. I played last sunday with a 10:30 tee time, It took myself and two of my buddies six hours to complete 18 holes. Not to mention, the so called "ranger" was telling us to hurry up and hit the ball while people were still on the green and our shots would have 100% hit them. If it was not for these darn coupons I bought, I would never play here again. Thank goodness I have two left!

I played here twice recently because it's only 25 minutes from my house. Not a bad course, but there's a couple of crazy-short par-3s that just don't seem to fit in. I'm told it was originally a 9-hole course and they had to force in a couple of extra holes when they expanded to 18.

Way overpriced for what you get, but convenient for those in North Jersey. Also, you don't need a tee-time weekdays, which is nice, but can get backed up on weekends (14 players ahead of me when I arrived on time for my tee-time.)

The convienence of the course is why I would recommend the Meadows. If you are in Northern NJ and need a place to play at the last minute, then this may be the course for you. As mentioned in other reviews it is a little pricey for what it is worth. I paid around $65 to walk (you do not need a cart here), but i think with a cart you are looking at $80 plus, which at that point there are plenty of nicer courses out there for that type of money.

Like the course for its convenience to Manhattan - quick ride out Rt 3 from the Lincoln Tunnel. A bit pricey, cash only. No practice range. Get there early - the course backs up badly - the New Jersey 5 is prevalent here. Course itself is not long, but challenging - you need to be a shotmaker - many strategically located ponds, streams and hazards. #9 par three from the blues a terrific challenge - 249 yds and every inch of it. Beautifully maintained - gorgeous little course(holes ARE close together and frequent stray shots are a hazard) with heavy play - yet in terrific shape every time I have been there.

This course has some of the best greens in the area! The course is on the shorter side but, still challenging. The people there are some of the better to deal with by far. They are informative and very helpful. For all the other courses around the area this course seems one of the better plays......

Not the best course for the money. Greens are OK. Fairways aren't too bad. The price is terrible...

I read other reviews about this course and what they say is true. It is overbooked and their green fee is overpriced. However, considering that it's only 40 mins from Midtown, $70 is not that bad of a deal. I heard about 100 fores and my cart was hit 3 times. At one point, I was waiting to tee off and I saw 5 other groups in my sight, which just means many of the holes are overlapped. Greens are in great shape but their fairways are subpar. Overall, I would go back to this place because it's very close to the city, easy to get a teetime and friendly service.

This course IS NOT FOR ME. They overbook their T-times. My group of 4 stood at the the first T for 35 minutes before the starter had enough sense to send us off on the 9th hole. Funny thing happened when we asked the group in front of us and behind us what THEIR T-times were: All the same. THREE GROUPS ALL WITH THE SAME T-TIME? I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING. UNACCEPTABLE. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE CHARGING THAT KIND OF MONEY TO PLAY GOLF. What's worse than that? I wrote a letter to the management informing them of our negative experience and asked for a round on the house. They didn't even bother to reply. WELL THEN, I GUESS I'LL SPEND MY GOLF MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. OH and the hanburgers tasted like they sat under the heat lamps for 3 days...

Great course, people are nice, play is smooth, (but can back up sometimes but not most of time) everytime i play it it is great

Well maintained course which flows well. Not the most difficult course (quite short) in the area by any means. Also not the greatest value for money. However, it is easy to get early, weekend tee-times. Good course for beginners and for building confidence.

Great value: 30 mins from the city and a mere $76 w/ cart.

That said, this course has some fuzzy math with regards to its yardage. There is no way this course measures 6,300 from the tips. Did not use an iron in the entire front nine (all about driver + pitching), and even the par 5's were all too easily reachable in 2 (i drive the ball pretty far, but i was left with a 140yd apprach on a 508yd par-5... c'mon).

Other than the yardage issue, the front nine is very congested (holes flanked by other holes), and i do not exagerate when i tell you you will be ducking 2-3 times each hole at the constant cries of "fore". Very frustrating.

If you can ignore those factors, it is still one of the closest public courses to the city distance-wise, and not a bad value.

Worth the drive from the city

Easy to get to and while it's not cheap, it's also typically not over-crowded and play is smooth. Beautiful woods and lots of wildlife. Course is narrow with water in play on almost every hole, but it's very short and par is always within reach if you keep the ball in the fairway.

Good course, but suseptable to flooding

I golfed here on a monday after a terrific rainstorm on Sunday. All the Sunday golfers showed up Monday and despite my T-Time reservation, I had to wait over an hour to tee off. For the money, I thought that it would have been better to just go over to Passaic County and wait there for $19 rather than the $40 I paid here.

Good Course, but suseptable to flooding.
