Staff is great and owners are true family oriented people with high standards. They spend countless hours on making this course the best it can be. However, Willow Springs is a very old country club that could use some overhaul. As with older courses, greens are very small, fairways that once were nice are now overgrown with old trees, and things like driving ranges are small. The greens go from very nice to almost gone and very rough.

Unless you are a very low handicapper which most are not, you often find yourself behind a tree or in someone else' fairway due to the very narrow fairways surrounded by tall old trees. Since most are pine trees, the acidity from the needles kills the rough, so your ball goes bouncing through to another fairway into plenty of trouble. Going for the green from trouble is not an option due to all the very tall trees. That is a shame. Reward should not be just for a straight drive. How many exciting shots do we see on TV coming from errant tee shots? Those are the highlights.

Don't get me wrong, you can have a great fun day at this course, but I think you'll find better golf for the average person elsewhere. Even though this course is surrounded by great people who are friendly, helpful and nice; this course is just not up to today's standards. Even for the money. Give Wedgewood or Happy Valley a try for about the same money.

This course is a good value for the $20 twilight rate. It has a small driving range and putting green and a nice chipping/pitching area. The course was pretty well maintained, but I noticed a lot of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. The greens were a little shaggy and kinda slow, but not bad. The fairways were nice, but the rough was poor. There were a lot of dry patches of dirt with no grass. Overall, the course is worth playing and is a good challenge. If you miss the fairways, you're likely to find your ball, but you'll probably have to chip out into the fairways b/c there are lots of hardwood trees.
