Course Reviews

Let me start out and say I know this time of year golf courses have to airify their greens. All I ask is that they would tell me on the phone when I call and make a tee time. I have played the course in the past and enjoyed it, it was a good golf course. We checked in at the pro shop and were never told that the greens were airified and after warming up we went to play. The greens were terrible and after the second hole our group decided to ask for a rain check so we could come back in a couple of weeks. We were told by the man in the pro shop that he has had no complaints and he would not give us a rain check. He said and I quote "that is the risk you take" when you go to a golf course. There was only four other cars in the parking lot so I guess other golfers knew. I think since the course if for sale, they do not care about customer service. How do I know it is for sale, there are signs posted all over that it is for sale for 1.5 million, that would be the best thing if someone who cares would buy the course

Need white sand in bunkers. Other than that was a great course and great value.

This is a top course anywhere in area. Greens are always in great condition. It's easy to get to just 1 1/2 off I-26.
They have kept rates down. The owner dictates everything that goes on. It his pocketbook that dictates condition. Your getting excactly what your paying for. The Golf Director runs the business for the owner, therefore time behind a desk is neccessary Mr 15degree. It's your responsibilty to ask for conditions of course porter20! There is always the $50 and up courses if you like!

This course is going downhill. Slow play is rampant and there is never a Ranger on the course to help. Bunkers are mostly dirt or mud and are often not raked by players. I wonder if the Golf Director has ever left the chair in his office, I've never seen him do it. Mondays and Tuesdays are discount days and the quality of players show it. Bring your best tank top and come on!

Don't know what these other guys were smoking on the other reviews but Red Fox is 1 1/2 miles from I-26 a major highway, not wjat I call in the middle of no where. I play there all the time and the greens are great. Everyone has green problems once in a while. Red Fox was in Top 100 in America 3 times, its a great classic course. The pro shop staff and pro are exceptionally friendly. It is the responsibility of the customer to ask about the condition and areiation.

This course has a lot of character: near-constant doglegs up and down hills, challenging risk/reward par-3's, a still lake in the center, and the blue Smoky Mountains on the horizon. Low fees and friendly clubhouse folks. First-timers should expect a challenge, and repeat players will learn to love it.

The price is right... beautiful area... fun to play!

Fair course with good condition and fair rates.
they now have a ATM machine in the proshop, for cash.

Will be laying many more times as it is very close to my house, here in the nc mountains.

Spike, Never up, Never In!!!!

I agree with slicer8.2 not bad if you're just looking at a practice round. For the price it's okay but make sure you've got cash.

FUN COURSE... BUT..................

FUN COURSE BUT GREENS ARE IN BAD SHAPE AND NOT GETTING ANY BETTER. ITS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE SO WHEN YOU CALL TO MAKE TEE TIME, THEY FORGET TO TELL YOU THE GREENS ARE BEING ARRIATED OR ONE OF THE SIDES ARE CLOSED, THEY THINK THEY GOT YOU BECAUSE NO OTHER COURSE NEARBY. THE CARTBOY IS FROM THE NORTH AND IS VERY RUDE.WITH A NEW STAFF AND A LITTLE WORK ON GREENS, THIS WOULD BE ONE OF THE BEST AROUND.

They don't take credit cards

This is not a bad golf course to bang it at. You will probably enjoy a wide open course when you come as well. They don't put a lot of money into this place, so don't expect Pinehurst. But it's a decent track that will challenge you. The conditions weren't perfect, but for $35 who cares. Grip it and rip it baby!
