The 18-hole "Oak Island" course at the Oak Island Par 3 At South Harbour facility in Southport, North Carolina features 1,951 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 54. Designed by Edwin Burnett, the Oak Island golf course opened in 2002.
Returned this year ('17). Last year the greens had an $80K upgrade. Look real nice. Golfers can play this course with a sand wedge, 9 iron and a putter. May need an 8 iron if windy. Nice course layout with bunkers and water. Tons of fun! Saw no mosquitoes. USGA 6 handicapper.
Recently moved to area and discovered this hidden treat. Very nicely maintained and affordable. Greens are in great shape and holes from 60 to 150 yards make this my go to place for polishing up my shot game. Staff is friendly and accomodating.
Played here over Labor Day Weekend. Verr nicely maintained and a lot of fun to play for a Par 3.
Played on July 9th. Could not get over how much it cost for a non resident to play. The greens were sub par at best. The mosquitoes were horrible.I believe the course has a lot of potential for a good short game practice course. The longest hole from the back tees was 151 yards most holes played between 75-100 yards. For what they charge I felt the course could have been a lot nicer. The grounds crew were very friendly while the same could not be said for the front desk! Will I play here again? I doubt it. For a vacationer I can spend $20 more and play a regulation course in the afternoons.
