Course Reviews

One of the hardest courses I have played (which doesnt say a whole lot) but it was really very enjoyable as well. I played it last March and then grass was all in good shape despite the fact that Myrtyle Beach got a rare 1/2 inch of snow that weekend. It's a bit pricey but I wouldn't mind paying it again if I could get a bit of a discount. Hole 9 is really unlike anything else I have done before on a golf course!

this is one of the best courses in Myrtle Beach, in great condition and a tough layoout, staff is very friendly. Number nine is probably the best hole in Myrtle Beach. Don't listen to the bad reviews people say about this course.

Nice layout. Greens in terrible.

Really difficult course especially holes 5-10. Greens were in great shape but the overall conditions didn't warrant the $70+ price point. Challenging course for sub 10 handicappers, but annoying layout for those above 20 handicap. Definitely bring a couple extra balls with all the hazards.

62 in Golf Digest??? Yeah in 2003 maybe. Course was terrible. No sand in any of the bunkers. Out of bounds everywhere - I mean if you hit a good shot and it rolls off the fairway your OB on some holes. Blind shots, terribly marked for yardages (they want you to spend more mony with the Starter to get a GPS...) I got a deal ($75 instead of the advertised $109) but even that was too much. Played a lot of courses down here adn won't be playing this one again. Go to Thistle if you want a great course int eh area.

Played on 11/20. Scenery is awesome. Tough golf course but not long. A lot of trouble. Fairways were fine. Greens had some bad spots on them but overall weren't that bad accept for the par 3 on the back. Definitely a must play for the scenery.

I play to a 14 hc. This course has it all! It's beautiful, well maintained and a great design. You'll need to use your imagination and every club in the bag to get around. Staff is above average. Very nice clubhouse with good food and a great view. Don't miss this one!

This is, by far, the best course I have played in the Myrtle Beach area. A true shot-maker's course, you'll play every club in the bag. There are several risk/reward holes, and some great par-3s. It's somewhat out of the way for most people vacationing in the MB area, but well worth the drive up to Shallotte. The 9th hole is probably the best golf hole that I've ever played. The scenery is awesome, especially along the marshlands. The clubhouse has an excellent selection of food and drinks. The best part was the price. I played during the summer, when the rates are lower. With a coupon, I played at 8:00 am for $50.00!!!!!!

Granted i say this cause i am an 19 handicapper and shot 85 but we played from black tees 6440 yards. We should of played from the white 6033 yards. Not gonna take anything away from this course. Everything was going right for me on this day and definately shot lower than i should of but this is a great layout and a MUST PLAY in the Myrtle Beach area. I cant state that if you want an enjoyable round and not a frustrating round lower than a 10 handicap and you should play black if you are higher must play White otherwise you will frustrate yourself and not enjoy the round for what it is. The only downfall is we were down in October and they were letting the greens grow therefore making the putts bumpy and slow but when the greens are in great shape i can see this course being one of the best in the area.

An incredible layout on the marsh and shallote river. A challenging layout off the first tee. Pays to be a shotmaker here as you will have the opportunity to play every club in the bag. Incredible scenery and awesome golf in a great location. Can't ask for a lot more than that. Enjoy!
