Many improvements have been made to the Cardinal since the last review. Green conditioning has improved with more frequent heavy-duty maintenance. Tee areas are being re-constructed. Overall course drainage has also been improved with clearing of adjacent creeks. Holes #14-18 can be card wreckers; long and tough, especially. 17 and 18. Get the birdies early in the round.

Should have stayed home and played in my back yard. Tee boxes were terrible. Fairways were weeds or dirt. The only maintenance they put into this place is their greens. No reason to be charging $32 on a weekend to play in a cow pasture.

If you wish to be follow around then go there its is not worth spending the money there are a lot more courses better than this one and more nicer people don't waste your time and money poor poor poor

They always talk about their greens which are good, not great, but they must have forgotten about their tee boxes which were in TERRIBLE condition my last time there which was a week ago.

All I can say is that this course must have made a 1000% turnaround from before the renovation. It was hardly a golf course back then and I said I would never go back.

So I can not honestly comment on the current condition. It appears much better and good for them.

But to someone's point concerning "For under $40.00 including cart, where else can you play?"
I played Walnut Creek in Goldsboro on a reciprocal rate of 30 bucks including cart, and this was Saturday morning. There is no comparison!

I'd also say Wedgewood in Wilson at almost half that amount weekdays (22 bucks a round with cart) with irrigated fairways, greens and a pretty good challenge.

But for 10 bucks more, you can play a championship course like Ford's Colony in Rocky Mount which is head and shoulders above any course in Johnston County. Make the drive!!! It is WORTH every penny

Looking forward to playing this course next week to see what changes have been made. Will rate after 3/20/08

This is a great course

One of the best courses and improving all the time. New greens that are fast. Awesome and challenging course. Play it and you'll agree.

Prices have gone up $5. They have new Bermuda greens that are real fast. It looks better that it did 2 years ago when I played.

newly re-done

As of August 06; this beautiful golf course has made a great turn around. Beautiful new greens and landscaping. I think its one of the best courses to play.

dont go

Played this course in 05 in July gave them a break because of the drought. Played in June 06 still in horrible shape. Spend a little more money and play a real course.
