Mountain Glen Golf Club, Newland, NC

This is one of the only nice courses open to the public in the high country. The temperature rarely reaches above 85 degrees even during July and August. The front 9 is straight forward with little elevation change. The back 9 becomes more hilly but not extreme, like some of the courses that double as ski slopes. The course has been beautifully maintained but now shows some wear on the cart paths. There is a small grill in the Clubhouse and well appointed pro shop. The ladies locker room/washroom has been recently redecorated. We've played here for many years, the course is very enjoyable, the mountain views breathtaking and you can't beat the price.
