This is a great value course. If you truly account for price I'd rank 5/5. The layout is good. The greens average somewhere between fair and good. I walked on a Friday last week for $13. Riding was about $20. This is not a high end course but you can get on, it's fun and still a challenge. Great for learning to play without breaking the bank and the people are nice. I've played courses all over NC and SC and played The Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. This is a good place to play but keep in mind what it's place in the golf world is......good value fun course.

This course is great. i don't know what kind of problems these other guys have, but for the price you can't beat pine burr. i go at least twice a week and i love playing there. I go after 3pm and pay $15 to ride 27 holes or however many i can fit in before the carts have to be back at 7:30pm, but it is never less than 27 holes. If i go with friends on a weekend then i pay about $20 to ride 18 holes. the staff is great, extremely friendly and helpful. you don't have to get all dressed up and be all pretentious about it, you just go play a nice course for a great price and have fun.

Terrible course. Grounds suck and could use a whole redesign. Staff is discourteous and just doesn't seem to have a clue. Will NOT play this course ever again. What a waste of my time.

I don't know what course some of these other guys are playing, but the greens aren't that good. The greens tend to be a little rough, a bit patchy. They're very flat, with not a lot of break. The course is built on a literal hay field. Very open, the only way you're going to lose a ball is hit it in the water or deep into the woods. The only redeeming quality in my opinion is the price. It's very good, 26 dollars on a Saturday for 18 holes is unbeatable. This course isn't really a challenge. It's lacking sand traps and other hazards, but the price makes it where you have a choice to get some experience playing or go hit the driving range. The driving range isn't as fun.

The finest course in the Sandhills! Large landing areas to beautiful rolling fairways. Perfectly manicured greens that consistantly roll better than the high end courses in Pinehurst. You better sharpen your wedge game to score on these tough but fair greens! I also enjoyed the relaxed dress code. This is a must play!

very nice course. agree with pastor mark, have seen many locals playing "speed golf" with their carts. it is also a great place to go alone and hook up with another group.

Played here on a whim, drawn 30 miles from home by the low price. What a pleasant surprise! These are the best greens I've ever experienced! I found only one flaw -- the rate of play apparently enjoyed by the locals is more like polo with carts than real golf, to my mind. I was walking the course, and literally had to run ahead and skip three holes just to keep up, which disturbed my game a bit!

One word, "Breathtaking!" Another gem set amidst the Sandhills of North Carolina.

A shotmaker's haven. This course allows you to shape your tee ball and makes you use every club in your bag. Greens can sometimes be too penal. Choosing the correct tees will make a very enjoyable experience.
