Played this course on 6/21/17. The course was in immaculate condition. Greens were plenty fast and green...no dead spots as has been reported previously...fairways lush and full. Second time I have played this course and I love it. It's a combination of grip it and rip it holes with some holes requiring a placement tee shot. Number 3 is an uphill narrow Par 5 with an elevated green. It's not a hole you easily forget. Both my drive and second shot were in the fairway and I still walked away with a double. We played from the whites which are a little over 6,000 yards and that suited my game well. People in the clubhouse were great. They made sure we got out in front of a bunch of seniors so we didn't have to wait. Plus...the senior rate was $25 with cart which is a bargain for this course. This is a course I will continue to play again and again!

Played Cedar Rock course on Sept. 8, 2013. It was in great shape. Played hard and fast. It has a great layout, traditional, and is a real challenge for the average golfer. It has some the toughest par 4's around.

Played this course yesterday.

Drainage issues. The course was soaked after lots of rain over the past week. If you call ahead and they say it is cart path only, stay away as it is WET. I walked the course and there was standing water everywhere. Plugged balls, wet shoes, and so on.

Great layout: really enjoyed the course layout. A good variety of holes and from the blues, with no roll, it was a huge challenge.

Greens: in great shape and very soft. Once on, they rolled very nicely and fast.

My recommendation is to play, but call ahead about the cart path.

Great little course nestled in the NC foothills. Rolling hills and nice homes on the course add to the beauty of the course. Great value at 25.00 for 18 holes. Fairways and greens were in great shape. I highly recommend this course. I travelled from Greensboro, NC to play and enjoyed the experience. I am not affiliated with this course in any way and I normally do not write reviews, but I feel so strongly about the value of playing this course, I wanted to share it with others. I played the course on 8-30-12. PS. Nice practice green which replicated the course grees well...fast greens with very true roll.

Ok, there are some really old reviews of this great golf course so lets up date it a little. This was once the #3 rated golf course in all of NC but something happened several years ago and it really went down hill. A golf course recovery service has come in and is now in charge. The course is now open to the public on weekends. The greens are in really good shape. Most of the fairways are in excellent shape. Some of the fairways were completely lost and have not been recovered yet. #3 in paticular, most of that fairway is ground under repair. I held my church golf tournament here last weekend and the overall response was good. Most of the course is in spectacular shape but there are a couple of holes where they will not have the fairways back untill at least next spring. 25 through the week and 30 on the weekend cant be beat for the course! And no I am not an owner, member, employee or have any ties to the golf course.

New owners. Place is AWESOME. Greens are totally restored. Now open to the public. ABSOLUTELY the best course I have ever played in my 25 years of golf. The new owners are putting tons of money into the course, as you will see, and the layout is the best I have ever seen. Course is worth $100 a round easy, and they charging like $40 in season. SIDE NOTE- WNC GOLFER- to compare Cedar Rock to Orchard Hills is a JOKE. Orchard Hills is a goat ranch. NOT EVEN CLOSE.

I don`t understand the high ratings from other golfers ( must be owners or members )..The greens were dead in spots and so were the greens ..Some holes on back nine were flooded and blocked off when we played We wanted to hit a bucket of balls before we played but were told the driving range was just for members ( WHAT ?! ..WE CAN PLAY YOUR COURSE , BUT NOT USE YOUR RANGE ..THATS A NEW ONE ! ) We were also told to please not walk thru the Pro Shop on our way to restroom ) ..No wonder this course is hurting for play ..When you treat non members like crap ,its hard to sign new members .. Orchard Hills is a MUCH BETTER DEAL AND A MUCH BETTER GOLF COURSE in this area.
