Ok place....just not worth the price. If they would cut the fees down by $10 it would be a pretty good value, but as is it's not worth playing. The fairways are well maintained, but right now the greens are shot because of the heat and no watering....which is like most courses.

They advertise hole 14 "young's revenge" as the hardest par 5 in the world...what a joke. There a small pond at 235 yards from the tee that you can't see, so you have to take a wood shot. Then it's only 240 more yards to the flag, uphill. Wow, really hard. Hit another wood, then you have about a standard 60 yard pitch. How on Earth is this the hardest par 5 in the world? What a joke.

And by the way, there are no hole markers, so you don't know if you're at the #1 tee, or 15, or 9....there are no signs...I had to ask 3 times to other golfers where I go next. You don't know the yardage...nothing.

The maintenance really is pretty good...but the drive down to get to the clubhouse should tell you something..don't expect much. It's like you're driving through the slums.

Once again...okay course overall, but it's worth only $15 during the week and $25 on weekends. Not the $40 that they charge. Don't go here if you can find somewhere else to play.

Course fun to play. Signature hole is a joke. Layup, layup, then a shot to the pin. It is a poorly designed hole, especially for a par 5. Scenery is nice and greens are generally good. Starting to get pricey for the value. The staff could stand to smile every now and then. ;-)

Nice course. Clean, well cut. Everything clearly marked. Hazards in good shape. Fairway, rough, and greens all cut as they should be. A slight mixture of grasses on the greens makes them a little more difficult to negotiate. Some minor drainage issues on a couple of fairways. The was busy, but the rate of play was good. Overall a good value for the money. Great scenery.

I simply loved this course when I lived in Charlotte. If you can score there you can score anywhere....

I played this course today (11/9/09)..and it was packed!! Of course for the price ($20/18 holes W/Cart)..I'm not surprised! I have never played the course....and I was unsure of distances and where the hazards were..that kind of stuff. The course is pretty hilly...but you expect that from the name (it has Mountain in it!) The front nine is on one side of the road..and the back nie on the other. The greens were fast...even for Nov....and they were small...so you had to bring your A game..or have a fantastic short game...which today I had neither. What would help play immensely is to put signs up that show the hole and the hazards on the hole. For example...on the 14th hole...I hit my driver..and got up there and found my ball on the downslope almost in the hazard. I would have hit my 3 wood if I'd known the distance. THis also comes into play on other holes as well...esp on the back nine. I thought the course was well maintained and fun to play. I wish it had played faster...but I was in no rush...and it was a beautiful day out. Good Course...Great Price....and a definite play gain rating!!

Great course for the money. Kept up very, very well!

Pretty good course, great scenery. The only problem was the lack of maintenance. Greens were super fast, which made this course tougher than it really is.

This golf course has went down hill since the last time I played it. Bad tee boxes hairy greens and shitty fairways.

Awesome course for the money. Greens are normally in good shape. The course will make you want to take chances. Keep the driver in the bag on the back nine and you will do much better.

Great Find

A great course at a great price. It won't be the best kept course you will ever play, but it will be one of the more interesting. I love the views of Crowder's Mountain as well as the overall scenery. I found it to be more challenging then most at this price level. It was also surprisingly not croweded on a Saturday morning during the middle of the summer. Hope to play this course again real soon.

This course is fairly challenging. It has several holes that temp you, but beware of hidden hazards. A lot of drives u cant see the green from the tee box, and many of the fairways are up/down or sidehill lies. #3, 14 are the hardest holes. #14 is very very challenging. Its worth the drive and cost. Dont be alarmed by the clubhouse - the course is nice. The worst thing about the course is the cart path or lack thereof...its horrible. No frills, but good value.
