Great Golf Course. No houses, good conditioning and a routing and design built by a guy who knows what hes doing. Unlike the Divide and Emerald Lake who were Routed and designed by hillbilly landscaping companies and have $500.000 homes way to close, this course has a solid foundation and when the conditioning is good, its one of Charlottes best.

I caddied for a pro durring a Tarheel tour event here and he said it is one of Charlottes best layouts, and I agree. You can shine a turd but guess what.... its still a turd.

This course is close to home and the shop is run by a bunch of good ol country boys. As of now, it has been terribly hot and humid and the water has dried out the greens a little bit. The teeboxes could be cut a little better, and the bunkers could maybe use a little fresh sand. But i play this course all the time, has a great $27 deal after 2pm, and for the price, i come here all the time.. it beats out all other courses in the area price-wise. Dont come here expecting a great course because its not, if it were, youd be paying more than twice as much for your round... so take that into consideration. Come to this course if you are looking for a superb round of golf while keeping money in your wallet.

I play this course all the time just because it is close to home and I have to say for what it is worth it is a really nice course. If you are used to playing high class country clubs all the time then you definitely will not enjoy play at this place. But, the people there are friendly and the course itself is difficult and original. The one problem I saw recently is that they lost their good greens, I am pretty sure though it is because of the heat and humidity.

After reading the last few reviews, I was not too excited to go visit this course. I went on 5/14/2009. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was courteous. The scenery was beautiful - I like that there were no houses and it was more secluded. The fairways and greens and bunkers were in good shape. I don't have pompous standards like others might. For $35, I don't expect to play a course that has been groomed for the pros. But the condition was like or better than courses I've paid much more to play. The only two problems were a local airport where planes came in and out a few times and the pace of play. I was by myself and got stuck behind a group of 4 70 year olds (though this could happen anywhere during the morning of a weekday). Overall good experience. Large greens (some 60-70 foot putts are possible), accomodating tees (longer for more advanced players), and tough shots (a lot of water on the course).

Just played the course on 4/18. This course is terrible. If you like playing in a cow pasture then you will enjoy it. The fairways are really bad, course isn't maintained at all, weeds everywhere. I paid $40.00 and should have paid $10. Don't play here, if you do you will regret it.

I realize it's early in the season, and there was rain in the area last weekend, but the course was a mess. I'd like to rename it Dogtrack National. I don't know if the course had a drainage system. I don't understand how you can allow players to play a replay round when the tee sheet is booked solid. I'm glad I only paid $20 for a twilight fee, because the course was essentially a glorified range. To top it off, it's located next to an air strip, where more affluent hillbillies go to play with their small planes and helicopters. The helicopter was particularly annoying since it hovered above the course the entire round. I didn't expect a ranger for pace of play, and I didn't get one. The double-wide pro shop trailer was particularly nice. If you like golf, don't play Dogtrack National.

course is in good shape most of the time but its way over priced for the clubhouse being a triple-wide trailer

fun course, well maintained, wide open

this course was well maintained, the fairways were nice, the rough was really not to rough and the greens were consistent and quick and well groomed. the course plays pretty easy though because it is wide open, there are not to many holes that will punish you for an offline tee shot.

Charlotte National

Great golf course for a relatively quick round...Rarely ever over 4 1/4 hrs per round..Greens well maintained and can be tricky....fairways also plush most of the growing season....rough areas can be ,well, rough...Best three finsishing holes in the Charlotte area
