This was an ok course. It was nice and the staff was friendly. I would get there early on nice days or you will be waiting a while. The maintenance was very poor and there was a terrible scenery. Nothing looks great. You can look at a factory or look at the neighborhood next to the course. The course difficulty was very good. Holes placed very well.

Fantastic fairways, well kept bunkers, a tricky layout, greens with dead spots and slow play...but 18 holes with cart for $19.50 is a good deal.

Best Kept Secret

I have to agree with the former reviews. I have lived in Greensboro all my life and never played Gillespie until less than a year ago, and I was amazed at the course. Not terribly long, but still a challenge for the average golfer. Layout is good, terrain is nice, shop could use some broadening. Well maintained and very reasonably priced. Creeks are a monster, to be sure. Hit it in there and you can forget it. I would say best course in town for the value.

Best Value in Greensboro

This 9-hole course actually allows you to play a full 18, with different tee boxes for the "back 9". $9 gets you a full day of unlimited play, from what I was told. $17 with a cart. The course was challenging, with a good mix of terrain. Greens had plenty of slope, and missing them with your approach was usually pretty costly. Course was maintained well. Very impressive for the cost.

Nine holes with some bite

Usually, nine hole public courses are pretty easy, but if your mind set is like this for this course, you're in trouble. This is an enjoyable nine holes... hit it long and straight or bogey or more is yours. It is easy to walk and pretty cheap. Its worth a look, laid out pretty nice and attractive!
