This course is a GEM with just a few small problems that should be addressed immediately. First of all I've been playing this course since I was old enough to swing a club and I'm 30 now. Over the years it's had its ups and downs but first things first. The staff. When you walk in the barn you immediately get the feeling like you're not welcome. I believe the mans name is Johnny but he's a complete @$!*% hole and should be nowhere near the course because everyone I've taken to play there have commented on his attitude. If people felt welcome it would help with their business. Next is the cart paths. Roots from neighboring trees have pushed the cheap asphalt into nothing but speed bumps. If this course was ran by a business man and wanted to keep players on the course it would be an excellent place to battle your friends on the weekend. The layout is absolutely wonderful. It is full of character and fun. I played last weekend on 3/30/17 and the course was in pretty good shape given the management. Of course when I walked in to pay for my round I got the same feeling I always do. Like no one is welcome. I can't wait for this course to get into the right hands and give it the TLC it deserves. Get with Odell if you're reading this.

Played today, 28 July. I chose the course based upon the June review. The course is very rough around the edges. I bet this was a great course years ago during the real estate and golf boom. It's not now. Most of the greens were gone - sprayed over the black mold with a green substance. Very sparse grass on the greens. Cart paths gone, areas that need repair. It does have a lot of challenging holes - elevation changes. I just wish it were in better shape. Fortunately, only paid $20.00.

Played this course on 6/4/15. Paid $20 senior rate. I thought the course was in pretty good condition given the drought we've been in. There were a few "sparse" places in some of the fairways...but overall they were in pretty good condition. Tee boxes were also fairly well grown in. The course is pretty hilly with lots of uphill and downhill tee shots. There was a nice mix of straight ahead shots and dog legs. The Par 5's were fairly short...however..they were all uphill so they played like a Par 5. One of the Par 4's on the back 9 was pretty narrow..and requires a placement shot off the tee. All in all...I liked the course...and will be going back. Some nice Mtn views on the back nine. The negatives is the signage..which is pretty sparse.( had no idea where #10 was..and one hole had us searching for the correct tee box). Some of the cart paths were a little rough. They also don't take credit bring cash. They do have an ATM if you need one. For the $$$ is a very good deal!

I have been playing this course for 13 years. It is in the best shape I have ever seen it. Repairs have been made to cart paths sand traps have sand and greens are in great shape. This course has always been worth playing. But with the changes I think it will be a lot harder to get a tee time.

This course has GREAT POTENTIAL , but it is a little rough around the edges..Members don`t even play out of the sandtraps because they are in such bad condition and the cartpaths are as bad as i have ever been on .. The course has a great layout though and could be a gem if some money was put into it , but they only charge $22.00 and less for Seniors ..If money is spent to fix it up , then the rates would probably be much higher.

Oct. 4, 2009. This is definitely a working man's golf course. As noted in other reviews, the cart paths are challenging. Hey, what do you want for the price? The course is virtually always in very good condition. There are several quite interesting holes; the par 3's are challenging. Excellent value for the money.

I love this course's layout. Geez with a little TLC and money this course could be outstanding. A very redneck laid back course, i mean the club house is a barn which is pretty cool, but the guy behind the desk is an @$!*%(guess he's the donkey in the barn lol)! Wish they would let you bring a 4 wheeler to drive on there cart paths b/c the golf carts are just not working. Fun to play, and you pay for what you get.

Could be a 10 times better course if they fixed the cart paths and had a few different pin placements. Most fairways have a huge hill on the side of them leaving the worst shots rolling back down into the fairway. Some small bunkers keep it interesting until you make it to the last 4 holes. 16 is a massive uphill par 3 that you can play 100 times and never get tired of. Could be a far more interesting course without the banks on the sides but that might make it a little to challenging with some holes.

1.The cart paths suck bring a seatbelt
2.The guy in the barn on weekend is a @$!*%
3. Hole 16 Blows its all up hill the person who created it should be hit with a 5 iron carts are dirty better bring a rag/water hose.
5. The rest of the course is alright i guess since hole 11 has been birdied so many times by my boy.
6.Stop by the old mans house to get a dozen balls for 4 bucks.
7.atm hardly ever works better stop at jack b quick on the way there to get cash since thats all they take since they don't know about new tech. cause they serve you from a barn.
8. Food place never open
9. Scorecard is better than the course itself.

Fun course. 2 bad holes on the back, but 16 very nice holes.

This course has a very nice layout. It's not very long but it doesn't need to be because it's pretty tight. There weren't many holes where I felt like I could use a driver. There was just too much trouble to get into. The last 3-4 holes are very challenging and very beautiful. The main issues I had were the greens were super slow. I left my first six putts over a foot short and felt like I had to chip them to get them to the hole. I also didn't like the tee boxes. The grass on them if indeed there was any was very sparse. Some of the boxes didn't seem to be level either. Another reviewer stated the terrible condition of the cartpaths. We finally just started driving in the grass most of the time because the bumps were nearly unbearable in the asphalt. These problems are unfortunate because the land and layout are beautiful and definitely provides a challenging experience for the $22 fee. If the club ever addresses these three issues, this course will be a GEM!!

I played Granada Farms for the first time this past weekend and I'm ready to go back SOON ! Holes 1 & 2 were very pretty and set the challenge for the rest of the day. Tablerock and Grandfather Mountain set the backdrop on the horizon for a couple holes and there was a sign on the 9th hole to "call ahead" to the grill and it listed the number to expedite your back 9. Very Pretty, there were snowcapped mountains probably in the vicinity of the NC/Tennessee line that could be seen as well as some very nice homes surrounding many sections of the course. The clubhouse IS a barn, a very pretty and picturesque barn, but this is "no cow pasture with flags". Very Challenging (for me anyway) and a lot of fun.

I would have to say that this is one of the worst courses I have played in my life. An earlier review showed it as being in the bottom there anything lower? The fellow that operates the course is pathetic. He actually cursed a friend and I for being on the course 10 minutes too long. They do not take cash and the ATM was out of money. "Well, if you want to play you need to find some cash. There is a gas station down the road too...if you still want to play." He actually used the F word about 35 times while screaming at us for being out 10 minutes past closing time...which is not actually posted any where. Either way....avoid at all costs. I would pay three times the cost to never see the place again.

Great Course and very difficult. very long par 4's and seneic par 5's. i like hole # 7 because u can use ur hybrid and easily get it to the green but its a heck of a birdie put

Cow pasture with flag sticks

I feared for my life in the cart. Either they need to totally repave the paths, or the cart needed new shocks. Probably both to be honest. Half of the greens were unputtable. Definitely not worth the $22 you pay here, and it's cash only. The course itself has some nice views of the surrounding mountains, but that's the only redeeming quality of coming here. The fairways weren't actually that bad, but it really was a waste of time playing here when you can't count on any putt rolling true, or anything close to what you would expect. The place is just run down. Not the absolute worst place I've ever played, but it's in the bottom 5 overall.
