If you do your research you'll find that Quarry Hills is no longer under the ownership that wanted to make sections of the course income properties. I think there were articles about this in Triad Golf Today (look it up - they've got coupons, articles, etc.) and the local papers. Anyway, the course has been under new management and the damage done by previous owners has not been too severe. The driving range is long gone, but you still see the remnants of it from the odd par 3 behind the clubhouse. This hole seems out of place and is by far the suckiest hole on the entire golf course, with number one a close second. They had to move the green up on 1 and there are some crappy looking townhouses along the right side, but they should never come into play unless you're as terrible as I am. After that the course is really fun and worth every cent, and the first hole isn't really as bad as I make it out to be. The back nine is the best, though, and includes the quarry. Next to it is my favorite hole where you can try and mash it towards the tree line or hook it around a hill and then try and iron up to an elevated green. The course is an excellent value.

Wanted to add that the clubhouse/grill has plenty of beer, but better food could be found at a gas station.

New management has done an excellent job in maintaining greens and overall conditions - I can't think of a better course for this price range. This course offers a fair challenge for all levels of play and the staff is very friendly. Will be making Quarry Hills my new home course!

Course has improved since the management change, and much more accessible to the community with its "no monthly due" membership options. It's a progressive way to allow players flexibility at a great price.

Having played the course before and after the management change, the scenery looks much worse now. The course is under a state of construction. Mounds of debris remain near the #1 fairway. The management has taken a perfectly good course and has destroyed it. I doubt that it will be open much longer because membership and services are diminishing.

Great Course... always has been, but clubhouse and management need work.

Cedar Forest Golf Club is currently being developed by Will Mann(Former PGA President) into an upscale gated residential community. The golf course is a classic Maples layout located alongside the Haw River in Alamance County which has a number of scenic holes. Plans are already underway to remodel some of the existing golf holes to improve the aesthetics and playing experience. Plans are also underway to remodel the existing clubhouse and build a new smimming pool, tennis courts, and fitness center. Condos from the $350's are currently being built along hole number one and a number of patio homes are slated to break ground in the Spring of 2007. Any golfer who appreciates the history of the game will no doubt appreciate seeing autographed pictures from Arnold Parmer, David Toms, and other famous golfers, as well as Ryder Cup Staff bags, and other golf memorabilia which are displayed througout the clubhouse and pro shop. Cedar Forest is already paying attention to details with the addition of new Club Car golf carts, a nice benefit that is often overlooked by the typical golf club & golfer. With Cedar Forest's proximity to the I-85/40 corridor, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Durham the Research Triangle Park), and Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem (the Triad Business Park), it is only a matter of time that it becomes a well known & recognized first class Golf Club. Anyone interested in relocating to Triangle & Triad areas who want to experience "Championship Living & Championship Golf", should definately come play Cedar Forest and visit the Sales & Information Center. No golf course community that I know of in this market area is offering more bang for the buck!

Why would anyone join this club?

Great course. Poor management. Questionable as to the restraunt being open especially in the afternoon, and with no other place at the club to get drinks or snacks frustrating.
