The conditions at Scotfield are as good as any course in the area, especially for such a bargain. The people are friendly and the practice range has a great gazebo to enjoy a post round drink. Granted, it is only only slightly over 6,200 yards from the back tees, but with tree-lined fairways, it still offers quite a challenge. The par 5 17th might be one of the best holes around.

I enjoyed this course very much.Very nice scenery to play on. Hole 2 and 12 very hard. People there were real friendly. The maintenance on the course gets a thumbs up for a beautiful course.

I played this course in the dead of winter; it is a half-way decent practice facility, but I was pretty disappointed that they called themselves a country club--I had to brush off the greens myself of leaves and other tree debris. I would only recommed this place to build confidence in your game if you are a new or intermediate player--experienced players: BEWARE. I did have some fun on this course, but it is what it is. There are a few decent holes on the front and back; not too many challenges as far as water, waste areas, and bunkers. There are other golf courses in the area that are better and are either the same price or cheaper--in this area of NC you can play at some terrific places for nearly the same price. Nearby Northgreen is practically the same price as this cow pasture and is WAY better overall. Nearby Hickory Meadows is also better on many levels and half the price; so based on the location and quality of other courses that are in the area, Scotfield is nothing to write home about. I enjoyed holes 3, 7, 11, 17, and 18 the most. There were two or three other holes that were also decent, but nothing terrific. A half-way decent place for a novice. I plan to play this course again in the summertime to see if their maintenance issues are strictly seasonal. This course would have potential if they made some modifications, but as is, it's so-so.
