I played the course for the first time yesterday. It has a nice layout and is a nice everyday course. I have played very expensive resort courses in FL, GA, NC, WV, and VA that were not in as good a shape for this time of year. As for the comments about it being expensive, I am a senior who paid $11 for an enjoyable round of golf and plenty of exercise. You can dot beat this. If you want the nice clubhouse and someone to unload and clean your clubs you need to pay a lot more and go somewhere else. If you want play a nice round with friendly people at a very, very reasonable rate and a very good layout, this is the place.

The course has a little something for every level of play. Some dog legs and tricky blind spots are everywhere. if your course management skills a lacking this course can be difficult. I have played here several times and have yet to see a course marshall anywhere. It is seriously over priced and wouldn't play here during peak times. Don't use the restroom! go in the woods...trust me. They have some small snacks but no snack bar or food. The counter staff was nice and pleasant. They have a cool driving range that hits into the lake. Overall not a bad course just over priced for what you get. The par 3 finishing is my favorite.

Mom-and-Pop design and it's short, but has some bunkers and water to give a reasonable challenge. Conditions are good. I'd give the course a C+. I thought the price was about 5 bucks too high for what you got.

$16 to walk 18 on a Friday afternoon (another $4 to rent a pull cart). The cost is approximately $30 on Friday afternoon to rent a cart. There is a driving range there in which you hit balls into a lake; versus grass. The clubhouse is basic selling your basics in food and golf supplies. No restaurant or other amenities.
The turn is NOT at the clubhouse so bring what you will need for 18.
Overall the course is pretty good for the price; but this is not a country club by any means. One of the guys I was paired with played in workboots and had a torn t-shirt and probably shot about 140.
If you want cheap golf enjoy; if you're looking for anything more; keep looking.

Nice course. Pace was excellent for a Saturday. Not to challenging, but good for practice

Played the course for sometime. Great place to work on your game. Fairways are not the best but has some hole that are golf holes. I love #5 the par 5. Great hole to rip it and try to touch the green in two. I will play this course. And yes the driving range is quite strange but you will make sure you do not loose a club. Oh yeah watch out for the ducks.

I played this course in February 2007. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.

A decent course at a terrific price

Lakeshore offers many things to recommend it: It's a lush course, with many trees lining the fairways and surrounding some of the greens. The large namesake lake provides cooling breezes on some holes, while the trees provide a windbreak on others. The driving range is unusual, in that you actually hit balls ("floaters") into the lake. Several holes are challenging due to the narrow tree-lined fairways (the par-4 11th and par-5 12th, for example), and water comes into play on several others (notably #1 and #16, and #17 from the blue tees). It's a fairly short course, and not terribly difficult (although 5, 6, and 9 always seem to bite me), but it's fun to play. The biggest downside is the lack of a practice green. However, if, like me, you like to walk a course, it's only $12 a round, weekdays, after "late play" begins (2pm or 3pm depending on the time of year). It's well worth the money if you're in the Durham/RTP area.
