Camp Lejeune Gold Course (Paradise Point) 03/07

If you are visiting the Crystal Coast area then consider this a MUST PLAY. You'll have to jump through some hoops to get on, but it's well worth it. FIRST-you need to be active or retired military (with i.d.)-OR- a guest of such a person and playing with them. You must also have an established handicap of 24 or less (documented). If you have no base sticker for your car, then you'll need to get one at the front gate (drivers license, registration and insurance required). It may seem like a lot, but believe me, it's worth it. And don't forget to call about 2 days ahead for a tee time. Other than that, it's a piece of cake. The pro shop is well stocked with VERY reasonably priced items. I rarely buy the overpriced souvenier apparel in pro-shops; but I got a really nice Paradise Point embroidered micro-fiber golf shirt for $22. The staff is very friendly and the facility is beautifully maintained. They have a dining area with a full range of made to order breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack items-again dirt cheap! No $2 candy bars here. The carts are electric and well maintained. The course was nicely manicured (this is the off season) and the greens were overseeded and smooth. The traps were clean and raked, and the carts paths were in good repair. The course can be a bear if you aren't hitting it well, but you likely won't complain because everything else is so nice. The layout flows smoothly and everything seems to fit. There aren't any oddball holes that feel jammed in. The back nine has a couple of holes that run along a lake, that are breathtaking. In summary, you MUST play this course.
