This is a very nice course and has a great staff and grounds crew, greens are tricky and water hazards come to play a lot

My Home Course

Hi! I've been a member at VVGC for 3+ years. It is a beautiful course, greens are in excellent condition and can be very challenging yet fun. Water comes in to play on 7 of the holes, fairways tend to be wide & accessible, bunkers have beautiful white sand which takes some getting used to (playing out of anyway). Golf shop personnel are friendly and accomodating, while the selection of apparel is sparse, the equipment and extras (balls, tees, shoes, etc) are plentiful.
We really enjoy this course, it is really fun and plays differently every time you are out there.
It is a private club and you'd have to be a member of a reciprocal member or play with one of the members.
Have a great day!

Valley View - a great place to visit (and I'm glad I live here)!

Valley View is a challenging little course. Every long hole (par 4/5) has something - water, OB, sand... - to make you think about your game. The par 3s in general lack stress. If you drive 230+ all holes are fair from the white tees. If you don't drive straight the short 4s, especially #7, are diabolical. The greens are generally single-break, except for #5! It is easy to get lost as the next tee is not always obvious. Winter grass damage is common, although the greens and tees are usually pristine.
The amenities are good, for a golf (not a country) club. Nice restaurant with views, good food, fine service and a full bar. The pro shop is first rate; the range a bit small and short. The pitching practice green is a nice touch, although the main practice green lacks complexity.
It is hard to imagine better views, as of Mount Ellis from #1 tee, Mount Blackmore from #14 tee, and Bridger Baldy from #9. That said, it is hard to understand why the addition and growth of more and more trees (especially on #9 and #14) is apparently intended to obscure those views!
