9 hole par-3 course
The 9-hole "Family" course at the Family Golf Park facility in Blue Springs, Missouri features all the hallmarks of Missouri golf. Designed by Jim Slaven, the Family golf course opened in 1990. Mike Slaven manages the course as the General Manager.
My daughter and I recently played the Par 3 course. It was a good starter course for her and great practice for my short game. Its a beautiful 9 hole course with both sand traps and water hazards. Most importantly, there is no where in town that will beat their prices- just $5 for her and $6 for myself. Has friendly staff and good atmosphere. We warmed up by hitting a bucket on the driving range and were very impressed with the quality of mats and range balls. Brought my wife and younger kids later in the week for a round of miniature golf and bumper boat rides. Kids already begging to go back! Perfect place to spend a day with the family, but without spending a fortune. Well worth the trip and will be back soon.
The greens are in terrible shape. They are riddled with ball marks and bumpier than a camel's back. The holes are short, which makes it great for kids and short game work (only 2 holes over 100 yards). My 9 year old son made his first birdie here. You pay per nine holes, which is unusual for a pitch-and-putt type course. There are a few sand traps. A lake comes into play on 7 and 9. There is also creek, with a steep drop off, on a few holes.Play 9, but I would not spend too much time here.
