Riverwood National Golf Course, Otsego, MN

Where to start- Played Riverwood in July of 2011. When I walked into the club house a lady behind the counter was extremely rude, she complained that she had league tonight and someone didn't do what they were suppose to? On top of being Dr.Phil the lady tried charging me almost DOUBLE the price advertised; luckily a young man stepped in and corrected her (we were about to walk out). The young man later had to deliver me a fresh cart (mine died). He even played a few holes with us and bought us a drink for our issues. He is the only reason I would ever go back. If I can remember right his name was Brent? Holes were inconsistent. The first hole was a complete disaster. The fairway reminded me of my gravel driveway. The back nine was a little better. Tough course, which made it a little more fun. All and all the course is in really rough shape. The cost is minimal, so if you can avoid the lady at the desk you're in good shape.

Windy, nothing to break the wind so I assume it's always windy. The course is laid out for target golf with water along the fairways and many doglegs but the wind makes it difficult to play as intended. Not a bad course but the windy conditions take a little of the fun out of it.

Really disappointed. Made the trip from the St.Paul because I heard it was under new management. Quickly learned it was worse than before. The head pro there is head strong and I couldn't even hold a conversation with him. The only positive about the whole experience is the pro shop boy (which I believe was the head pros kid?). Treated us well. Was a little arrogant himself but seemed to be the life of the place. Course was in such bad condition that I couldn't even stand playing it. Only reason I didn't ask for my money back is because I didn't want to make a scene. I'm sorry to say but this course is a dud.
