The Ledges Golf Club, York, ME

While on vacation at York Beach, I played Ledges, The Links at Outlook, Cape Neddick and Old Marsh. All were good, none were great. Ledges is a well designed layout, well maintained, reasonably priced and has a friendly staff. My one significant gripe is the course plays 6950 from the tips and a rather short 6357 (due to elevation benefits) from the next tees. I like to play around 65-6600. Condition was good but this is a public course so unrepaired divots and ball marks abound. Ledges ranks #2 of the four I played.

Great test of golf with some spectacular elevation changes and lovely scenery. Very resistant to scoring (or at least that's what always seems to be the case for me). It is a bit pricey though in return for that the course is usually not crowded at all. Although the amenities aren't that great, I uprated it due to one of the best hot dogs I have ever had at the turn and the guy's prices are among the most reasonable I've ever seen on a golf course. Hope they don't read this and hike the prices up to the relative level of the Greens Fees!

overall fantastic course. my only gripe was the price. $75 walking at 730 am on a saturday is steep. The scenery is great. Never have i seen so many different animals. The greens were the fastest ive played this year, if not in a couple years. Tough course, great layout. hit fairways and play with someone who has played it before. Im glad i shelled out the money to play here.

The course is very well maintained in just about every aspect. The greens are FAST and very hilly on almost every single hole. If you can sneak away with a 2-putt consider yourself lucky. Have to hit fairways as there isn't much rough and lots of drops off the edges of the rough. One of the best courses in the state definitely, but it comes with a relatively steep price compared to a lot of other courses in the area.

I can't think of anything bad to say about this course. For those of you who have played Lake of Isles at Foxwoods, you'll find this course similar in design.
