Course is under new foreign ownership - rude and in bad shape.

Nice course, I am a god awful golfer, but got a great deal using golflink. Played a nice round with the old man. A must play if you live in or near Frederick County, Md.

Good, non technical holes, hard for beginners, but had some holes that helped the confidence and get you through the round...shot a 134..tee hee. Got my moneys worth.

Glade Valley is a grip it and rip it paradise...fairways rather open though there are trees to contend with. Only negative was how slow the greens were. There are numerous little gardens around the course to lighten up the setting. Unless you are looking for a course to really test your skills, Glade Valley is a nice place to play average golf. If you are a first timer, you'll need to drive your cart ahead occasionally or look closely to check out for yellow stakes where water hides near the green. A few water holes, but extremely fair...rather typical valley course. Enjoy!

Reading the previous reviews I agreed for when they played. But, right now, the course is in beautiful shape. Met some from PA. and they said that they were more the happy with the course. The greenskeeper has brought the course back to excellent shape. Now for how I feel about the course. You can really let it all out on some of the holes when your driving. I think that anyone who can walk off the 13th and 14th with pars should consider them birdies. The water is intimitating on both holes. To play the 18th take out a 3 wood. A long drive will put you in the hazard, unless you feel you can carry over 195 yds. The booklet of the course can be helpful and a good buy if you plan on playing more. It took me a few rounds to finally come around to liking the course due to me being "a go for the pin" man. A bit of bump and run game will come in handy. Okay, now you play it and see the better reviews from the earlier ones.

Tee boxes chewed up badly. greens aerated so they did not run true. Did not hit the snack bar.

Good "Middle of the Road" Golf Course

Play here fairly often, most recently 4-25-07. Course is unpretentious, mostly flat, has some water, generous landing areas, mature trees along the edges, easy to walk, and is a fair test of skill. Keep your expectations moderate, and you'll be pleased with GV. Conditions today were OK: tee boxes are in good shape; fairways a little thin after the cold winter, but coming in; bunkers are OK; but the greens are pretty bumpy and slow. Greens will likely improve with the weather and mowing/rolling. Price is reasonable, and the course is in the Tee Time book for $29. Pro shop is modest, and adjoining snack bar is too. No draft beer, only cans. Staff is always pleasant, especially in the snack bar. Course gets lots of play, and many outings, so call ahead to be sure you can get on.

Fun and value

The course at this time of the year has gone through a bad weather season. The tees on most of the holes are in bad shape. The greens on some holes really are terrible. Strangely enough the fairways are in good shape. Prices at the snack bar are too high. Go down the road to the restaurant. The course is wide open and if you dont care about thinking about what shot to make this is for you.
